The Toddles is a barn conversion on a working farm in East Lilburn, Northumberland, with views towards the Cheviot Hills and a south-facing patio. Set among paddocks, a horse training arena and open countryside, this is a proper rural escape that still puts you within easy reach of the Northumberland coast and national parks.

The farm is home to horses, sheep and working dogs. Guests can watch live equestrian activity from the property. Dark sky stargazing is excellent here. Wooler is close by with shops, pubs and restaurants at the foothills of The Cheviots.

The Toddles sleeps 4 across two bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king-size bed with a floor-to-ceiling window and window seat. The second bedroom has twin beds overlooking the training arena. There is one bathroom with a shower over the bath. The open-plan living space has exposed beams, skylights and a wood burner.

Alnwick Castle is around 12 miles away (25 mins). The Alnwick Garden with its Poison Garden is right alongside it. Chillingham Castle, said to be haunted, is about 8 miles away (20 mins). Bamburgh Beach is roughly 18 miles away (30 mins).

The Toddles suits couples, small families and dog owners. Up to three dogs are welcome in the fully enclosed garden. Book alongside Grey Mare Cottage next door to accommodate up to 6 guests total.
