Could do with 1 of these private cottages. Nice quiet and peaceful with a convenient bus service from York train station or hull. The X45 X46 and x47 Drop you outside and then 5 minutes walk. Already booked my next stay. Quite busy cottage. Everybody seems to want to stay here. Definitely worth travelling from Queensbury Bradford west Yorkshire. Looking forward to coming back. Can't wait. Thanks Mike. I was looking at your balloon outside when I got your text message giving me direction instructions. I use first buses journey planner on their website for travelling.

Just what we needed. A private cottage with a hot tub to destress for a few days.

We had a fab Girlie's weekend. House is gorgeous, spacious and immaculate. The owner Mike went above beyond when we got lost on arrival.....he escorted us back to the cottage. Definately will be returning.

An absolutely amazing stay. The cottage was very well thought out. Very spacious, clean and inviting. The entire stay was so relaxing. Everything was clean and tidy. The beds and sofas were very comfortable. We had ample towels for our stay and a lovely welcoming gift on arrival. There were plenty of utensils too. The garden had plenty of furniture and the hot tub was a delight. Even the local wildlife paid us a warming visit. The entire stay was so wonderful, we are definitely coming back again. I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone. Thank you to Mike for the messages. A wonderful host.

Our second stay at this property. Walking into the house it felt like we had never been away. We were a party of 6 adults and there was plenty of space for everybody to enjoy the place. The hot tub is fab for relaxing and was used constantly. There is a lot of outdoor space for everyone to enjoy too. A plus for us is that this property appears private and not overlooked so you can enjoy yourself without worrying about people disturbing you or being disturbed. The local Chinese Resteraunt was a hit with everybody and just a 5 minute walk away. Small things that we would change include swapping the super king bed into the bedroom with the ensuite and having a tv in that room and more glasses for adult drinks we love our cocktails but luckily brought our own glasses with us this time!. None of these things are big issues and did not detract from our stay. There is road noise but this is only to be expected from a cottage on a main road and it did not detract from our stay. The owner communicated well with us regarding a minor issue. We would definatly stay here again and indeed hope to do so in the future.

Very clean and lovely place to stay I would highly recommend

For a calming hah 4night escape with wife and 3 kids just before Christmas 2025, Wayside had a few tasteful festive decorations. The kids found and made the most of the chesschequers and bagatelle sets. Hot tub was excellent, lovely and warm, simple instructions on a plaque on the tub, and very soothing after long Christmas outings on foot. We would love to stay again.

Fabulous time for a group of 6 ladies at this property. It hit every requirement we had. The property is well sized with good outdoor space. It is private with nice high hedges and not overlooked. We have stayed in other properties which after arriving were found to have CCTV cameras which were not mentioned, this one did not not that we had anything to hide, it's just annoying when you don't know who is watching you, especially when there is a hot tub. Everybody in the group have agreed that we would be keen to return here. There are 2 supermarkets very close by too. The kitchen is well equipped and there is a washing machine, a drier and a dishwasher, great if you are there for a week. We took our own 3m x 3m pop up gazebo to put around the hot tub as the weather was poor and it worked really well. It would have been nice to have a tv in each bedroom but it wasn't a huge issue. We asked for the zip and link bed to be split into 2 beds and this was done for arrival. As previously mentioned we would definatly reccomend.

Fantastic stay at Wayside cottage. Pictures dont do it justice, it was very secluded, house is beautiful and couldn't fault it at all. Owner was very responsive when we had a question. Would definitely stay there again.

Wonderful cottage with fantastic hot tub. Loved the country walk to local pub. Great facilities in house excellent wifi and games. It was next to a busy road with some noise just to be aware but didnt spoil it.

The property was fantastic. Really clean and comfortable, the outside space was lovely and the hot tub was perfect. The cottage was spacious and well equipped and it was really nice to be surrounded by the fields. The caravan in the garden was also a lovely touch.

We loved our time at Wayside Cottage. Big, bright and airy! Very clean throughout, plenty of parking, plenty of towels and fully equipped kitchen. It had wonderful views and lovely and quiet in the evenings. We didn't get to use the hot tub due to our busy schedule but an added bonus to the property.

Another amazing visit to Wayside cottage. We have been a few times now, the reasons being it ticks all the boxes. Mike has always been helpful should any queries arise. Nice, secluded location. Comfortable and clean environment, hot tub! Its in an ideal location for visits to York or the surrounding areas towards the coast or moors.

Overall it was a lovely place. But had to clean all the dishes before we could use them. The oven smells when you use it and smoked from the fat that hadn't been cleaned from the previous people. The towels are past their best. The shower runs warm but then goes cold. But it is a lovely place. The shepherds hut is beautiful. On the whole it's a great stay and we never wanted to give any negative feedback

Wonderful place to stay, very home away from home, relatively comfy and lots of facilities to make life easier whilst away from home. Also on a good travel route

This is the third time weve stayed at this cottage and once again it was great. It is spacious and spotlessly clean. We love the fluffy towels provided for use with the hot tub. It has a new hot tub & We had a small issue with the controls but one call to the owner and he was straight round to sort it for us. Mike is so helpful and is on hand if you need anything. We will definitely be back soon.

Very nice property well looked after. The property was spacious and close to Pocklington and York.There was an added bonus of the pub and restaurant being very close as well as other eateries being just down the road.We also enjoyed a walk down the nearby canal. The beds were very comfortable,maybe an additional shower in the on suite would be beneficial. All in all a great stay.

A really nice homely cottage, a little tired in places but this certainly didn't stop us having a great time. Cottage entrance is on a busy main road and could have been better marked especially in the dark. Hot tub was a real luxury.

Lovely property and host. Very warm and comfy house. Hot tub was the best one wev ever used. Lots of clean towels. Beds lovely and comfy nice new bedding. Kitchen everything you need a dish cloth might be helpful along with the sponge provided. Also think it would be a nice touch to have cooking oil, salt and pepper in the cupboard. Stair gate and baby high chair were great. I think a welcome book with WiFi, hot tub instructions, local pub restaurant open close times number and a little tourist info would be beneficial to others. The host was amazing and came and found us when we got lost and brought us back to the property. Thanks so much.

Property owner contacted us before we arrived to give directions and had stuck a balloon on a stick at the entrance to the drive so we could easily find it. Very helpful as it was off a busy A road.

We loved the hot tub and the facilities at the cottage. The main road was quite noisy at times although it didnt affect much when inside the property it was noisy outside. It was a good location to allow opportunity to visit the seaside and York

This is a lovely place & we had a fabulous catch up there. We will hopefully be returning. Pro's location lovely & quiet. Spacious, clean and plenty of household items to cook clean with. Hot tub was a The Shepherds hut is cute & the rabbits are fun to watch. Cons Signposting to the driveway from the busy dual carriageway massively needs attention. There were balloons there but the treeshedges need trimming & a larger sign is needed to make the turn more viable. We stayed on the windiest weekend for a while meaning the water in the hot tub was constantly getting cooled so it struggled to maintain temperature. An extension to the french providing a wind block would be very welcomed. Other places we stayed had a welcome pack with guides, instructions etc in there. I have only just found the Welcome email in my spam folder so we didn't know about the bed linen instructions. The above is for feedback only to make the cottage amazing we would return.

Had a wonderful stay at Wayside Cottage. We wanted to get the family together for a relaxing holiday and some sightseeing and Wayside ticked all the boxes. Its spacious and has the added bonus of a ground floor bedroom with bathroom next to it so was ideal for my daughter, son in law and their 3 year old. The Hot tub was used every evening by three of our group and was definitely a hit and the towels a nice touch. Its all in the description and it didnt disappoint. Even the sideboard drawer in the dining room had a nice selection of leaflets things to do etc. Finally a big thank you to the owner for spotting the set of keys that got left behind and forwarding them on. Would definitely recommend.

4th visit to Wayside Cottage. Amazing value for money. Always spotless, plenty of towels and linen. Love the hot tub. Location is perfect too. Definitely recommend.

Stayed here for February half term, initial thoughts were its very specious. Slightly quirky layout, the main bedroom is not the room with the ensuite, but all rooms were large and it was great to see the hot tub, warmed up ready for us when we arrived.

This is a lovely spacious house, which is well equipped and very comfortable. The hot tub was great and the children loved the gypsy caravan. This was our second visit, and had a lovely weekend.

Me and my good friend of 20 years spent the weekend at Wayside cottage to celebrate our milestone. It was lovely. The cottage is in such a beautiful location with good transport links. The cottage itself is cute and quirky and we had everything we needed. We didn't want to leave! We are already talking about returning!

Fantastic holiday home in a perfect location. Very clean and well equipped throughout. Truly a home from home. Highly recommended to all and the hot tub is just amazing. Thank you for a wonderful weeks stay.

Our third visit to Wayside cottage! We love it here! The cottage is spotlessly clean. Facilities are brilliant absolutely everything you could possibly need. We really feel it is a home from home. Beautiful land around the cottage. My Son even got a little tour around the farm to see the animals with the farmer and he was absolutely thrilled. Thank you for another great holiday

The whole family had an awesome stay at the wayside cottage, the location was great to commute to all the places of interest in Yorkshire and the house itself was lovely with amazing facilities. We wouldn't hesitate to book again.

Fabulous cottage, very private & spotlessly clean. Fantastic facilities, everything you need. Ive knocked my review down by one point because the beds are described as 1x super King and 2 x King, whereas they are actually 1x king and 2x double, so not quite as described & not what we were expecting. However, that did not distract from the beautiful setting and our fab stay. Excellent place to stay and fantastic service support from Mike, the owner.
