A great cottage which is as accurately described in the listing. The internal stairs are extremely steep so not recommended for anyone with mobility issues. The location is super. Inside was clean and comfortable and we were kindly left milk and cookies which tasted great. I would definitely use again.

This is a lovely, simple cottage next to a working farm, in a great location for beautiful Alnmouth and very close to the train station. It's about a five minute walk to the station taking you either to Newcastle or Edinburgh and about 25 minutes walk to the beachtown. What really made the cottage a great place to stay for us was the garden, which is huge, and allowed our young children to run round and burn off lots of energy. The cottage is really solid, with thick walls, so there's no noise disturbance. It's generally well equipped it could do with a big saucepan for cooking things like spaghetti Bolognese and has a good electric shower. For families with young children, the extra bed in the main bedroom is very useful indeed, and our children loved the bunk beds. The stairs are narrow and steep but there are handrails either side to use. We found this a great, comfortable, familyfriendly place to stay in a wonderful location.

Nicely situated with a fab garden for dogs. Garden furniture dirty so didn't use. Kitchen nice & bathroom but living room furniture way past it's sellby date. Main problem was flies everywhere even in the shower. Lots of lovely seafood restaurants

On arrival was very clean. The kitchen needs more attention lack of basic items ie.. Tongs, pizza tray, and to small dishes for cooking meal in the oven the kitchen didn't have sharp knifes and only one choppy board which is disgusting. . The fridge freezer wasn't working correctly and wasn't keeping our food cold which made me ill. Bedroom had dreadful pillows. The curtains wasn't blackout so we didn't sleep very well due to that and no fans to help you sleep . Double bed wasn't cozy either. Bathroom needs shower mat, and bath mat was thin. Shower filled up with water.. The garden was nightmare as fence fitted was to low for dogs as they seem everyone going past which caused them to bark. It's busy road and on route for continuing bike's going past.

A lovely property in an excellent location. The house had everything one would need to ensure a comfortable stay. The garden is secure and provides a great space for your dogs. Beds very comfy. Yes the stairs are steep but there are hand rails on both sides.

I don't want to write too long as it will make it sound bad, when actually this is the best place we've stayed at so far in our ELEVEN visits to these areas. The size of property is great, parking is great and garden is amazing our dog needed supervising any time she went out as the fences are short and she's a big girl but she absolutely loved the garden, everywhere else we've stayed had a tiny courtyard at most. The beds were very very comfy, all facilities we needed were there and it was decorated very nice and it was very clean overall. We did 7 nights but then extended for an extra 3 the day before we were meant to leave. This is definitely the one I'd be most likely to return to, it really was a lovely stay There are things I would do if I owned it, but it's all personal preference, besides having a motion sensor light outside by key safe, and having double glazing and central heating. I'd still come back again without doubt.

Bilton cottages are in an ideal location to explore the southern area of Northumberland, and especially Alnmouth. The cottage itself was clean and warm but desperately needs a paint brush throughout. The kitchen is especially tired. Additionally the kitchen and bathroom are very dark because the light fittings are very poor.

This is the 6th or 7th time we have stayed at Bilton Farm Cottages, we have entries in the visitors book since 2014 and our children have grown up with regular visits. The Alnmouth coast is beautiful at any time of year. It's a wellequipped cosy and warm house for an Autumn stay. Our dog loved the enclosed front garden. The beds appear to be new and comfortable, the TV has Netflix. The local dogfriendly pubs in Alnmouth have quiz nights and nice food. Alnwick, Bamburgh, Craster are all close by and worth a visit.

I was very happy with this week. Clean, quiet, unfussy, no musty smell. The steep and narrow stairs were no problem for this spritely old man, but could be a bit irksome for the less spritely, tho there are bannisters either side. I recommend the free Warkworth beach car park for a lovely evening stroll. The stroll from the door isn't bad either.Alnmouth Station is a few minutes walk and convenient for Newcastle, Berwick, even Edinburgh for day trips. Happy customer, thanks!

We loved our stay at Bilton cottage and would recommend it to others who are staying in the area, only thing that wasn't so good was badly stained mugs, we had to buy our own.

Thanks for another lovely stay. We returned having enjoyed this cottage several years ago and were equally delighted. We love the spaciousness and the garden, and we had everything we needed. We love the location and using our bikes to get around. Might the property owner consider leaving a patch of the big grassy garden wild and unmown to encourage biodiversity?

Great little cottage as a base for our weeks trip to Northumberland. Quiet area with views of the countryside. Plenty of inside space for a family. Availability of Netflix also a positive especially where the children were concerned. Only approx 10 minutes drive to the lovely Alnmouth and Longhoughton Beaches. 15 mins drive to Alnwick itself with its attractions such as Alnwick Castle, Gardens and Lilidorei worlds largest play structure and supermarkets. Albout 30 minutes from Seahouses for boat trips etc. Would certainly recommend for future stays to the area.

Enjoyed our stay. The garden was brilliant for the dogs and the bed was very comfortable. The stairs were very manageable for my husband who has MS. Ideal place for exploring the coast and some really good eating places Indian at Shilbottle and Cook & Barker at Newton on the moor. Would definitely return.

This was the perfect getaway for my husband and I and our two German shepherds. I don't think we've ever stayed in a holiday let with a bigger garden! Prior to visiting, we had seen some comments about a musty smell which when first entering the cottage, we noticed as well but I think that's just inherent to the older property. Once we opened some windows and then warmed up the house, the smell went away. A few more cushions for the sofas would have been nice. Otherwise we had everything we needed.

1 Bilton Cottage was great, my family and I really enjoyed our stay. I have 3 girls, aged 6, 4 and 18 months and there was plenty of space in the living room and garden for them to enjoy themselves. The cottage is perfectly located and is only a short drive to most places. My only constructive feedback would be the curtains in the bedrooms hang low so we hung towels and blankets over the top to block the morning sunlight and the TV signal was poor but the DVD player was apt for the amount of time we actually spent indoors. I may also suggest the option of having stairgates may help, we brought our own to stop our youngest from climbing the stairs as they are located in the living room. Overall I would rate this cottage highly and would recommend to others.

The cottage was great and we had lovely neighbours. The 7 day stay was delightful and the surrounding area is gorgeous! The huge secure garden was brilliant for the greyhounds and they spent a lot of time in it. The cottage had everything we needed. Only issues we had was the steep stairs up to the bedrooms and TV reception on some nights. Other than that we had a wonderful stay and its peaceful location was welcomed. I loved watching the animals chickens, sheep, pigs and cows as well as the birds like swallows, rooks and pheasantswhat a picturesque spot. We walked down to Alnmouth in 25 minutes and it was short car drive to great towns and beaches like Bamburgh, Alnwick, Berwick upon Tweed, Newton by the Sea.

We enjoyed our stay at Bilton Farm cottage. We have been before and all was as we expected it. The garden is wonderful for the dog and we could let him wander about as he wanted which is a great bonus. The cottage is delightful and clean and welcoming.

It is great for touring the Northumberland coast as a very central location. The garden is ideal for sitting outside and safe for our dogs too. The inside of the cottage is quite large so is once again ideal with two dogs. There are also walks close to the cottage for the short last walks of the day.

This cottage provided us with a wonderful family break. It has a large garden which meant we could sit outside and eat, enjoying the countryside and the kids were able to play. It is close to so many super places worth visiting. Will definitely come again.....
