The Lookout (Embleton) Reviews

Deborah
The house is stunning and set in a gorgeous location. There were 12 of us and it was spacious enough to accommodate all without feeling overcrowded. The facilities were great and had all the amenities that you could need. Good local pubs and restaurants within walking distance or a short drive. Beautiful beaches 5 minutes walk down the road. It has spectacular views and fantastic outdoor area with bbq and fire pit, we unfortunately arrived during storm Amy and sadly did not have the pleasure of using it. The only negative comment is the sound speaker system is a bit outdated and does not work with any modern phonesdevices so we couldnt play any music We would definitely stay again.
The place has an amazing view of the castle and beach. Good nearby pub that does food. Good nearby hotel that has a nice restaurant. Very good nearby village shop. Easy parking.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your property. The bedrooms in particular were amazing however, we all felt that the kitchen, dining area and sitting room needed an upgrade. The cooker did not work properly and the toaster was temperamental. Some of the dining room chairs had also broken. There was also a feeling that maybe the lounge area could be upgraded??? It is such a beautiful property and commands some of the most amazing views you could imagine and it just felt that the downstairs area did not do the justice to the overall feeling of the house. I would like to say that none of this took away from our stay and we had the most memorable weekend! Thank you so much for sharing the lookout with us! Lynn
Lovely stay! The house was perfect for friends meeting up again we were so lucky with the weather we spent most of the time outside we all commented on what a great space it is and if had it been raining there was plenty of room for us to all spend time in comfortably. Not being able to use the bath was a shame but unavoidable it was the only thing that was amiss and really didn't stop us having a fabulous break, many thanks!
We were delighted with The Lookout as our venue to gather the family together in celebration of a forthcomingsignificant birthday. The large rooms were ideal as the children had plenty space to play whilst the adults could easily find a quiet space to read or to have a snooze. The house was spacious and comfortable, very clean, exceptionally well equipped in terms of dishes and glassware, cutlery and cooking equipment. The location of the house.is great with lovely expansive views of both sea and land. My wife made the arrangements for the booking and we were very impressed with the service which Alex gave clear concise information on enquiry and booking .warmly welcoming after arrival always happy to be of further assistance. In summary Janice and I and our family thoroughly enjoyed our short stay at The Lookout one aspect of the happy memories we have brought home of our weekend in Northumberland. Hope this is helpful. A beautiful property, perfect for large families or groups. Unparalleled views of the coast and lots of great facilities close by. The hosts were amazing with information and help. Really delighted with everything.
Beautiful property in an ideal location, spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Close to the beach and in a lovely village with a great shop and pubs within easy walking distance.
The property was just as described. We had three families with three generations and it was perfect. There was space for everyone and the children in particular loved the first floor sitting room which was their own chill out area. The location and views were brilliant and you would never tire of the view of the sea. Thanks for a lovely holiday.
The Lookout is in a great position in Embleton with fantastic views across to Dunstanburgh Castle and the sea. The house was perfect for our family gathering and there is everything you need for cooking for a large group. Our slight problem with the heating was dealt with swiftly by the owner who was very helpful and we have already booked the house again for next April. Our one suggestion is perhaps some more solid comfy chairs in both lounges for those of us who are older and have some back issues!
We had a lovely long weekend at The Lookout. Perfect for our stay. Well equipped house, with comfy beds and plenty of ensuitesbathrooms. Amazing walks from the house along the coast. Pubs to eat at within a couple of minutes walk. Owners were great at communicating with us. Couldn't ask for more and would definitely recommend.
This was the perfect property and location for our special birthday get together with friends and family from Australia and all over the UK. The house is well equipped and spacious and had everything we needed for our stay. There are lovely coastal walks from the property, turn right for a 3.3 mile walk to Craster and the Jolly Fisherman or left for a 2.3 mile walk to High Newton by the sea the Joiners Arms via Low Newton by the sea the Ship Inn. From High Newton there is a 2 mile walk back to the house via an inland path. In Embleton itself the Dunstanburgh Castle Hotel is a 2 minute walk, with friendly staff and a restaurant serving delicious food.
Barbara
Lovely well equipped house with beautiful views of the sea and Dunstanburgh castle. There is a well stocked farm shop in the village. Nice walk down to the beach and along the coastal path to the castle. Alnwick Castle is nearby and well worth a visit.
The Outlook was excellent in every way. In our experience rarely do properties live up to the images in the brochures.......this one does. The location is perfect with a 15 minute walk to the beach and within a couple of minutes from three pubs and a superb village store. The house deals very comfortably with a family of twelve and provides space and facilities for all. The views are stunning and we got the weather! Altogether a great stay at The Outlook.
A lovely property with a sea view looking across a couple of fields. Parking was easy on the road outside the house and the house was comfortable and clean. Embleton village has a shop with post office, a hotel and two pubs. It is accessible to the England coastal path which takes one to Craster and beyond in one direction and Low Newton and beyond in the other.
The Lookout is undoubtedly the best house we have used over the years for annual reunions of a group of former 1960s! Durham University students. The layout of the rooms is excellent and the house is well appointed and comfortable. The view of Dunstanburgh Castle is a bonus! Having a large kitchen space combined with the dining area suited our mostly self catering arrangements. The nearby Farm Shop has excellent local produce and there is a good range a local watering holes and eating places. Would we return? Yes we would!
A beautiful large property overlooking fields and Dunstanburgh castle in a perfect location. It is walking distance to pubs and a great shop in the village. The property is very spacious with good size bedrooms and lots of ensuites. Perfect for a group or large family
The Lookout was stunning, great location, and everything we needed in the property. Well equipped kitchen and comfortable rooms. We would consider staying again.
Valerie
We had an excellent stay at The Lookout. It is a superb house with excellent facilities and plenty of space for a group of friends holidaying together. It has fabulous views from the property and many walks can be started from Embleton. The village has a shop Post Office and places to eat so it is well served. I would definitely recommend The Lookout as a lovely place to spend a holiday. Valerie
We all loved our stay at the house and found it had everything we needed. The lounge was a lovely place to spend time and we also enjoyed sitting outside and viewing 2 amazing sunsets!
Georgina
What an incredible house! The Lookout was the perfect place for our family friends group holiday it had everything. From the large bedrooms and spacious dining and living areas, to the kitchen that included every potpanserving dishutensil you could possibly need for a large group, it was exceptional. Its big enough for children to play and have fun in, but still cosy and stylish, and homely for when you want to sit back and relax with a glass of wine when said kids have gone to bed! The location is ideal if you want to wake up to a view of the sea, and be able to walk to a pub theres actually three within 5 minutes walk away for drinks and a nice meal. We will absolutely be back.

Amazing views, really comfortable and warm. Fabulous situation.
This is a very comfortable and wellappointed house with lots of space and enjoying the most spectacular views, especially at sunrise and sunset. Very helpful owner.
The Lookout was everything we hoped it would be and provided an outstanding home for the week in one of the best villages in Northumberland and unquestionably the best beach!
The property is absolutely stunning. It&39s location is possibly the best we have ever had. The views of the castle and coast, access to the beach for walks, proximity to pubs and a village shop are superb. The internal layout of the property, the facilities and styling are all excellent fantastic for large parties. I left with enormous sadness, having had a simply brilliant week.
Fabulous location. Accommodation works well for large family party
The property is very spacious and well furnished. It enabled all members of the family to have their own space as well as enjoying the facilities provided to get together in the evening. The views from The Lookout are spectacular and provides great access to the beaches.
