The Anchorage Reviews

The Anchorage is a lovely place to stay. So clean, comfortable and well equipped. We have previously booked houses and have been disappointed by cleanliness or state of repair. However, this house exceeded our expectations. It's the best house we have stayed at and we have stayed at quite a few all over the country. It's absolutely lovely! It's so well presented and the finish in every room is to a high standard. Lovely touches, such as a welcome pack full of goodies as well as essentials. It's on a quiet street, walking distance from the town centre, parking on the roadside was never a problem. We will definitely book to stay here again, I'm tempted now as I write this review!

This is a very tastefully renovated cottage in a quiet side street which is only a few minutes walk from the town centre. It is very comfortable, clean and well equipped and we wouldnt hesitate to recommend it. We were genuinely sorry to leave at the end of our holiday.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Anchorage. It was convenient for getting into Alnwick town centre and castle. We found the beds nice and comfortable, as was the lounge too.

Such a lovely stay at The Anchorage. The very generous welcome pack of goodies set the scene for a fabulous stay. Comfy beds with quality linen and everything we needed in the kitchen. Fabulous view from the rear of the property too. Managed to park easily each evening in the adjoining road. A really quiet location and just a short stroll into town. Excellent base for exploring the area.

Lovely cottage, spotlessly clean, equipment very generously provided, including practical welcome surprises. Owners have clearly taken great care in furnishing and the cottage feels homely. Highly recommended!

We really appreciated the high level of maintenance in the cottage and especially the high spec bathrooms. Everything was very clean and comfortable. The welcome food gifts were excellent. If only all hosts were so thoughtful! These special touches make a lot of difference and we would definitely book again next time we holiday in the area.

Fantastic house in a great location town centre, gardens, castle are all within walking distance. We also visited the beautiful Hulne Park. A great base for visiting places along the coast, we got to Bamburgh, Seahouses, Alnmouth easily. Photos of the house dont do it justice. Spotlessly clean and spacious for a family of 4. Kitchen had everything we needed for our stay, including an air fryer. Shower is awesome! Super comfy beds. Host really made us feel welcome with a lovely welcome pack and the house was dressed for Halloween which our boys loved. Thank you

A lovely property having two bathrooms is a bonus! Loved the quirkiness of it and it was decorated beautifully with extra little touches. Very comfortable with easy access to Anwick and coastal Northumberland.
