About Marie's Cottage

Craster is a historic fishing village famous for oak-cured kippers. The harbour sits on Northumberland's stunning coastline with coastal walks leading to Dunstanburgh Castle. The village has a pub serving food and Robson's famous fish shop just 0.1 miles away.

The cottage sleeps four across two bedrooms. The twin bedroom sits on the first floor. A king-size bedroom occupies the second floor. The bathroom features a slipper bath and walk-in shower. Downstairs you'll find a fully fitted kitchen with electric oven and dishwasher. The sitting room has a woodburning stove and original sash windows. There's also a dining room and ground floor cloakroom.

Stunning cottage and location. Such a cosy feel and a relaxing place to be. Everything we needed was there and the kids had a lovey break. We loved the close proximity to the coastal path and cycle way and Craster with its lots of lovely places to eat. There's the wonderful Jolly Fisherman, the Shoreline Cafe, Pipers Pitch, The Arch and The Cottage Inn all in easy walking distance .
The cottage was great, the only issue was the shower its an old myson with most of the jet holes blocked, and very little water power, which means the shower was next to useless. If they sort the shower out it would be a five star review.
Delightful cottage in a fabulous location. It was a great bonus having parking. The cottage was cozy and well equipped. There are two sheltered areas to sit out in. We plan on a return visit.

Great spot to sit at the front of the cottage to overlook the harbour. Easy access to lots of Northumberland. Anwick for shopping including a brand new big M and S food. We wouldnt hesitate to return or recommend this cottage.

A well appointed cottage with comfortable furniture. The welcoe pack was appreciated after a long drive. Beautifully situated overlooking the harbour at Craster it was a pleasure to just sit outside and enjoy the weather and the view. Not ideal for those of limited mobility due to the number of steps inside. Off road parking was a plus.

Just returned home from our stay. Location fantastic, views amazing. Parking tricky when cars from other properties parking. Very tight. Ordered an on line shop with the postcode provided, not recognised by Sainsbury's. Property is a little tired and the cleaning wasn't up to standard. The lounge smelt of dog and the rug and carpet needs replacing. The drainer in the sink was thick with grease. All this said this cottage is in a wonderful position and we really enjoyed our week.
Great wee cottage . .photos were deceptive made it look larger inside but that was no problem..cotact with maintanence lady very good ,,we had a hiccup with the computor link up sorted so all good..wee issue i think i may have left a box of art materials but have mislaid my printout of cotact details..cfeel free to edit thisould you check for me to old to remember details..................feel free to edit this.

We loved our stay at Maries cottage which was very well equipped, nice and warm and very welcoming. The position on the Northumberland coast was perfect for visiting many interesting places, we would love to use the cottage again but realise that we are unable to.
A welcoming, warm and cosy home from home. Wish we had discovered Marie's Cottage decades ago. We would certainly have returned many times! Absolutely STUNNING views. Many thanks to all those who have let many of us share this cottage for a relaxing and restorative break, and ensured such faultless maintenance. Happy retirement to the owners! Can't fault you, but DO envy you!! ..
This is a lovely cottage to stay in , it is well appointed , modern and very comfortable . It is well situated with a lovely view over the harbour . We would thoroughly recommend it.

Location, location, location and its certainly all about that. We had a lovely stay at Maries cottage. Craster is a very special place with lovely people and, of course, the food at the Jolly Fisherman was a delight, well definitely be back. 2 weeks wasnt enough for us! The cottage is very well equipped and has amazing views. Cleaning could have been more thorough e.g. debris in the toaster, freezer and a dirty frying pan. A comfy new sofa but sadly the armchairs were not. The twin bedroom was beautifully presented but the attic king size room lacked in comparison but it was cozy and the bed comfortable. The welcome pack was also lacking no local products, a packet of cheap biscuits, a handful of t bags, sugar and coffee sachets, a pint of milk but the bottle of wine was a nice touch, as too were the dog biscuits and tennis ball. Sadly the cottage wont be available after this year as the owners will be retiring to there and who could blame them. Northumberland is a special place and were looking forward to our 4th visit in 2025.
As ever, a wonderful relaxing stay. We always feel so at home there. Its comfortable and very cosy with the most wonderful views. We shall miss it.

We have been staying at Marie's Cottage for a few years now and as always, thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It is a special cottage in a special place. The cottage is comfortable and welcoming and wants for nothing, with regards to facilities. Lovely views over the harbour and out to the sea. Disappointed that this year is the last year for rentals, as the owners are planning to make it their permanent residence. However, we are very grateful that we have had the opportunity to share their cottage and make happy memories there. Craster has not seen the last of us yet!

Its a very welcoming and cosy Cottage, with a lovely view of the fishing harbour and the sea beyond. Well equipped in the Kitchen, dining room and lounge.its all there! A wonderful place to relax and unwind, thank you.
Loved the cottage and we were there for storm Babet so wonderful to have a cosy place to see the waves. My elderly parents particularly loved how cosy and comfortable the cottage was. I loved how well equipped the kitchen is. Only small issue was the neighbours were quite rude to ensure we knew there was only 1 parking space and seemed a bit neurotic about it apart from that loved the cottage.
We had a fantastic week at Marie's Cottage. It's a lovely home and very comfortable with lots of resources. We spent ages just sitting outside and people watching bird watching dolphin watching. Fabulous. Communication with Diana was always positive. If I were to have any suggestions, pint glasses would be useful and if towels were provided it would just have been a bit more convenient.
The cottage was like a home away from home with everything we needed to enjoy our stay. My one criticism would be that the curtains in the top bedroom let too much light in, especially when you consider that the sun rises at that side of the house. A secondary blind or shutters would be useful. I appreciate that this is a relatively minor issue and that it should not take away from the fact that the cottage was one of the best that weve ever stayed in.

Fabulous cottage in Craster village just by harbour . Yes its small although does have two bedrooms and amazing bathroom , beautifully decorated cosi and so comfortable all mod cons and just a walk from great pub in village . Great views from cottage and being able to park car at property is a bonus , excellent base for exploring beautiful north east coast .

Marie&rsquos cottage is a mix of modern and traditional. Absolutely perfect for a restful break. Very comfortable with fabulous views of the harbour. The beds were really comfortable. Great walks from the door step! Perfect! Definitely one to return to.

We stayed for a fortnight and settled in as at home after a day. Perfect for a couple with two children. Truly lovely property, the location, the rooms, the view warm and with space to spread out over three floors. Fully equipped kitchen, fast internet and Netflix, A home to stay in most of Christmas and New Years days, to walk the dog early in the morning before day trippers arrive, to look at the dark starlit skies when they leave. And visit the area&39s beaches and towns. Recommended!

Wonderful Cottage in perfect location. Very well appointed, full of character but with all the modern amenities you could wish for. Very comfortable and warm. Excellent decor, equipment, furniture. Very clean with fantastic views of Craster Harbour, with plenty of local walks. Car parking was a big advantage at Maries Cottage.
