Comfortable and peaceful with everything needed for a self catering holiday. Secure garden was ideal for our dog who also loved his days on the nearby beach 15 minute walk but worth it Overall a nice break

Rachel
We had a lovely relaxing time at Spuggies Rest, the bungalow was, comfortable, very clean and had everything you need and more. We had lovely gifts on arrival and for the dogs too, thank you. Lovely village about 5 minutes walk and beach takes about 25 minutes to walk to. We will definitely be back.

Spuggies Rest is a fabulous place to stay, very spacious and comfortable and in a great location. The wrap around enclosed garden is ideal for dogs and children and is also very private. The kitchen is well equipped and the living and sleeping accommodation very comfortable. We found the bed in the double room a bit soft but that is a personal preference. It might be helpful to mention in the how to get there instructions to mention that the property is actually on Station Road, we got a bit lost on arrival! However, all in all we had a terrific week and would definitely stay there again.
Damien
A lovely stay at Spuggies Rest which is situated in a peaceful spot. The property is extremely welcoming and spacious, with a fabulous garden to be enjoyed by pets and children. We would definitely recommend Spuggies and are already thinking about our next trip to Embleton which enjoys an idyllic location between Seahouses and Alnwick with one of the very best beaches in the area.
Great holiday place enclosed garden perfect for dog. We enjoyed watching the birds from the living room. Conveniently located for beach and couple of nice pubs village shop.
Lovely property which is quiet, very comfortable & relaxing. Much appreciated welcome package upon arrival thank you. Large garden area which was great for my dog. All modern facilities provided and we really enjoyed our stay. Was a shame to leave after the great week we had here. Embleton is a beautiful village recommend the Greys Inn for drinks & food and if you walk East up hill through the village then down the otherside to the golf course and take a left on the beach to Lower Newton, you'll find the Ship Inn which is a fantastic pub microbrewery. Don't forget Crastor if you turn right on beach, pass the castle and keep on going if kippers crab sandwiches are your thing!!
This was our second stay at Spuggies Rest, but this time we booked for two weeks. Like the first time we had a fantastic holiday and absolutely love the property, we like what youve done with the windows and the new doors
Carole
Lovely Bungalow just a short stroll to the village. Very well equipped for preparing meals and a good selection of books and games. Excellent garden space for children and dogs, although it would have benefited from additional garden furniture as theres a lot of garden and the furniture is concentrated in one area. Lovely comfortable beds and plenty of space for 4 adults, two children and two dogs. Well maintained just a couple of minor issues need attention, note left in property to alert owners cleaning team. Would definitely recommend and will book again.
Rachel
Lovely cottage, felt homely straight away. Everything you need is within the cottage and the welcome gifts are a lovely added exra.
Very well equipped cottage, nicely furnished very clean , great enclosed garden.
Sandra
Very comfortable and clean, we had in laws staying for 3 days , they were very impressed and we had Netflix!
Lovely place, clean, comfortable, nice safe garden for our dog, very spacious place, wifi really good. Garden could do with a trim of the bushes and garden furniture with a lick of paint varnish, but these are only very minor things.
We had a wonderful stay at Spuggies Rest, our second week in the property this summer. We have already booked for next year. The cottage was warm, welcoming and in a fabulous spot. The accommodation is spacious and the gardens are great for the dog. We are regular visitors to Embleton and this cottage is a favourite. Thank you
A lovely family holiday cottage. We enjoyed an excellent stay with our daughter, son in law and two grandsons. The cottage was roomy with a good size garden and the parking for 2 cars was good. A short walk and you are in the village of Embleton. Would highly recommend this cottage to families and dogs are also welcome. A lovely welcome pack for both humans and the
Louise
Loved it, will definitely be back!
Really enjoyed our stay, beds very comfortable, but thought place was a little tired and small, unfortunately three of the party and the two dogs didn't stay if we had all been able to go it would have been a bit cramped would have loved a BBQ understand weather conditions probably made it difficult to cut grass, so on the long side.
We just loved this holiday property, it was ideal for us , grandparents and a family of four including two young children. Very well equipped and a very safe garden. We had a very wet week so the warm holiday home was a welcome retreat after wet trips out!! Wobbly loo seat in ensuite needs attention.. but we reported this
Denise
Acomodation exactly as advertised. Perfect.
Very comfortable cottage, nice beds and linen. Well equipped in a good position. Garden enclosed and great for doing dog . Lovely selection of leaflets and books. Kitchen well equipped. Great to have a dishwasher and cleaning stuff all provided. The house was a bit dusty, maybe because the vacuum cleaner had a hole in the hose. This was replaced by a new one when reported. The washing machine leaked on the floor and the drain was cleared by the helpful maintenance man, but perhaps needs further attention as the bath drains very slowly. We had a lovely week and would like to return.
Lovely, spacious bungalow in a fantastic location. The kitchen was well equipped and the beds were really comfortable. We had a brilliant stay at Spuggies Rest. We all loved it, including our two Border Collies.
Angela
Lovely property, everywhere was clean and it had everything you would need in the kitchen with plenty of drawcupboard space for your own food and things. Bathroom and Ensuite spacious. Overall a lovely cottage and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Great location and property for what we needed, comfortable and well equipped. I did call Skye cottages beforehand as I needed to know if there was a hairdryer, due to flying our luggage was limited and it was told No! but when we got to the property they literally had everything you could think of, including a hairdryer!! Just wish the times of arrival and departure were a little more flexible. Would definitely stay there again.
Comfortable, warm accommodation with everything needed to cook and serve meals. Thanks for the welcome pack and baby bibs nice touch. Great location, really enjoyed our stay. Just to mention,on arrival, hoover was left in twin bedroomplugged in. The carpets were not very clean and we couldnt get it to pick up debris hair and fluff in the carpets worked fine on uncarpeted areas. Also as arrival is after 4pm, the outside lights really need to be left on as very difficult to see round the side of the property to the front door and keysafe. Also it would be beneficial to have an automatic light on the drive as you approach the property. We had a wonderful holiday and would recommend this property. In fact, we were asked by a passerby how the house was as theyd booked for the summer. We were happy to be very positive about the property. Overall a great time in a beautiful area, thanks.
Robert
WOW! springs to mind. A beautiful warm well equipped cottage. A lovely welcome pack which included treats and toys for our spaniel, Maisie. Every amenity within walking distance. Greys Inn turned into our local. Very welcoming landlady. Excellent food, which was also available as a takeaway. Looking forward to booking a return visit.
We had a really comfortable week at Spuggies Rest. The house had everything we needed and we loved the decor. We loved the wraparound garden even though we didn't have the weather to make the most of it! Thank you for the thoughtful welcome pack which included some dog treats. We would definitely recommend Spuggies Rest as a really lovely base for exploring this wonderful area.
A great bungalow, well equipped and appointed, perfect secure garden for our dog to explore, a great base for both walks from the door, beach only a short stroll away, and further afield by car, all in all an excellent holiday accommodation, very much appreciated and enjoyed our stay.
Ha a fab week ideal location and would definitely book again!
Steven
Only downside garden a bit overgrown restricting entrance through gates other than that perfect place.
We loved our stay everything has been thought of, an amazing place to stay ... We loved our stay everything has been thought of, an amazing place to stay great location thank you for letting us stay xx
Michelle
The property was clean and well maintained inside. It was well equipped and within easy reach to the coast. The mattress in the non ensuite room was in need of replacing and due to the bowing we tended to gravitate towards the centre. The gardens, weeds and lawns were overgrown and were in need of maintenance, easily rectified with a regular gardener.
Louise
Great house! ..living room, kitchen, bedrooms perfect. Interior doors and hall wall paper let it down..and no storage for vacmop etc. Being a bungalow wasn't expecting steps to get in.i have mobility problems and couldn't get scooterwheelchair from car round to door.i am lucky in the fact that I can walk with help so was able to Navigate it just about. But all in all absolutely loved our week here.village great and take away food from pub a bonus. Nothing to far away to visit and beaches stunning.
Suzanne
This is the perfect place for our family. Great garden for the dogs, secure and wrap around. Great comfort for us, well stocked and chilled out. Close to the pubs, the beach and central for exploring the coastline. Genuinely, the perfect place.
Michael
We enjoyed our stay at this property, it was reasonably quiet, had lots of birds in the garden with their young which we enjoyed and is well placed for visiting this area of Northumberland. The kettle needs replacing due to limescale and the animal skin on the back of the sofa sheds lots of hairs and perhaps more attention could be paid to cleaning some areas a bit better bathrooms and under and behind beds and under sofas.
In an excellent position for seeing Northumberland, cottage was very clean and comfortable. Really nice welcome pack and treat bag for our dogs. Private enclosed garden really secure for our dogs. Maybe a couple of suggestions a blind in the main bathroom to provide privacy when the light is on and a mirror in the twin bedroom as well as some coat hangers. But overall a lovely comfortable clean cottage in a beautiful village, be sure to eat at the village pub great food good value for money, and visit the village bakery.Would recommend to friends and would stay again
Rachel
Wonderful stay at spuggies rest. Absolutely stunning location ideal for me, my husband and our two dogs to walk the stretch of the coast and explore. Lovely welcome pack including treats for the dogs and us humans included upon arrival was a very nice touch. The cottage was very peacefully located and larger than we thought it was going to be. The front room is really spacious and great for relaxing on an evening and the kitchen well equipped. The ensuite was lovely and handy and nicely decorated. Loved sitting in the garden and bird watching was extremely peaceful Couple of minor observations is that the front entrance door is a little difficult to unlock from time to time so may need some maintenance. One of the bedside lamps in the main bedroom wasnt working may just be a bulb that needs replacing and also would be great to have more handy plug points located near the dressing table in the main bedroom. Hope the above suggestions are helpful as they in no way made our stay not enjoyable but could just make the difference to future guests Thanks for a lovely stay! We would love to visit again!
This is a very comfortable property with plenty of space to spread out a a family group. The garden was safe and secure so therefore lovely for our granddaughter to play in, as well as for our dog to potter safely. The open porch area was especially useful for sandy shoes and outdoor toys! The kitchen had everything we needed and the dishwasher came in very handy, as with a 3 year old we mostly cooked our meals. It is in a quiet spot overlooking fields . The property is close to Embleton Bay, which is huge and was almost empty, even on Easter Sunday! We also discovered Lower Newton by the Sea which was again easy to access and quiet and good for rock pools too. Seahouses is not far and we enjoyed a boat trip around the Farne Islands and fish and chips. Howick Hall and gardens made another lovely day out. Would definately recommend for a family holiday in beautiful Northumberland.
A lovely cottage to chill and relax after days exploring the beautiful Northumberland coast thank you x
