Lovely cottage right in the middle of Alnwick so perfect for visiting the area 3 big bedrooms, comfy beds and plenty of space to store belongings. Well equipped kitchen with a few lovely touches of essentials like coffee, tea, biscuits, milk etc Good sized living room as well but only really seating for 4 adults. The outside area was great big private garden, patio furniture and hot tub The only thing is there is only 1 bathroom and it is downstairs, so a bit of a trek if you need the loo during the night. However, as this is a lovely, old, quaint cottage that is to be expected and not really anything the owners can do about it! Would definitely recommend if you are after home comforts rather than a bland hotel

Everything was as expected. Lots of little extras, such as milk, cake, water and juice were left for us which was thoughtful. Plenty of toilet rolls and the property stayed nice and warm. The location was great, right in the town and parking was available in the hotel car park. Although the mattresses unfortunately were a little lumpy, the decor a bit basic and full gates for dogs not to be able to escape under would be helpful and certainly more reassuring for pet owners. Apart from that, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend White Swan Cottage.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Swan Cottage. Thank you. The garden is secure for the hounds, and the hot tub fits four adults comfortably it would be tight fir six. There were lots of leaf lets and deck of cards. The WiFi is free and public our Alexa didn't like it though but we'd brought a FireStick and played music from the TV. The Bedrooms are spacious too more coat hangers please? The seasoned Holiday Homer will know lost of places have no suppiles but not at Swan Cottage... There is everything you need, not only a washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher... There was a lovely surprise, tea, coffee, milk, sugar sweet treats and biccies, tea towels, washing up liquid and loo roll as well as plenty of soft fluffy white towels. I guess with it being owned by the hotel that's what they do! The down side my 6'4 partner didn't fit in the shower, my 5'9 boys head skimmed the roof. A previous inhabitant commented on the living space, sofa and table only being big enough for four i echo that but we were four so not an issue. The decor was a wee bit tired but who wants pristine with dogs? Not I! A note for the owner If it is doable my advice to you is to make an upstairs bed room the middle one into a bathroom and the current bathroom a boot room and utility. If you can knock the kichen and living room though you'd have an amazing space and could charge three times as much for rental.

The reason to stay here is the location. It's right on Alnwick main street but like a secluded little gem. However, the place is lacking some love. There's a fabulous private garden but it could be bursting with colour and fragrance, It's not. The whole place could do with a lick of paint. There's not really enough space for everyone to sit on a sofa a squished 5 max and the dinning room table is really for 4. The bed rooms are a good size and comfy but the only bathroom is downstairs quite a trec when your a woman of a certain age who will most certainly be making a couple of trips at night. We visited Amble, cragside, Seahouses and mooched around Alnwick so, if need a base to sleep for another busy day it's grand, but if your all about chilling and enjoy the cottage this might not be the one for you.
