Treetops Reviews

Shirley
Beautiful, central accommodation, spotlessly clean, with everything you need. Lovely comfy bed, nice deep bath with plenty hot water and fluffy LARGE towels to wrap yourself in always a plus! So quiet too yet just a few minutes walk to the centre of Alnwick. 2 parking spots in private car park at side of house. Would highly recommend.
Treetops was an excellent place to stay, with wonderfully proportioned rooms, a great location, and lots of quality touches. We would definitely stay again. A few key points Highlights 1 Large comfortable rooms with excellent bathrooms. There is a huge living space and kitchen area which worked perfectly in the evenings 2 Parking for two cars was great. The spaces are well signposted outside the property and that's where the key dropbox is 3 Great location by Barter books with an easy walk into Alnwick and super quick access to all roads for exploring nearby 4 The property had two ovens, a dishwasher, and a washing machine which came in very handy for our stay Things to be aware of 1 The utensils in the kitchen are fairly basic. Not a problem most of the time but be aware if you are planning on doing anything more than basic cooking 2 We did have someone park in one of our spaces. Some of our party had left by then so it was manageable but still frustrating 3 On check in, and coming back after a day out, the place was quite cold. The central heating and moveable heaters sorted that out but something to bear in mind 4 For some reason Northumberland don't recycle bottles so be prepared to take a box load home or to the bottle bank! Not the property's fault I know!

Lovely comfortable property in very quiet yet central location. Well equipped with everything you need. Spotlessly clean and minor issue with blocked wash hand basin was resolved within 24 hours. Only issue was difficulty in speaking to humans at Sykes Cottages customer service options on website are unhelpful and it took me almost an hour to resolve a minor query.
Excellent location, within walking distance of town centre of Alnwick and good starting point for day trips around Northumberland. The rooms are large and comfortable. Bathrooms are good, with both bath and showers. Living room is very comfortable. The kitchen missed a few good pots and pans.
As this is a flat on the first floor it's totally unsuitable for a dog, you get up and get dressed to take the dog out. Sykes were very unhelpful when I tried to cancel or change my booking and I won't use them again.
Really great place, lovely building, photos don't quite do it justice and should probably include a photo of the walk in shower in the ensuite bathroom as we almost passed this gem by thinking there was no walk in shower. To be fair the description did mention it and we're so happy we booked. Amazing location behind Barter Books within walking distance of Alnwick town and the famous Gardens.
Lovely house the neighbours did keep using our parking bays but they would move them when asked but a bit inconvenient! Would stay again fantastic location
Hannah
We had a lovely stay, great space one room had a leaking window which wasn't ideal but apart from that all good
Absolutely fantastic property. Comfortable and well sixed for 6 guests and in walking distance to the town centre and the castle. We had a great time!
It was a lovely property and location was excellent. The option of the cot was really good and a good plus for the property.
Great property in perfect location. Parking on site which is one of the things we look for when booking. Well equipped kitchen, front room, bathrooms and bedrooms all good. Only thing that would improve the stay is it would be good to have the heating on for new arrivals.
Andrew
Beautiful apartment in a stunning old building. Lovely warm, homely accommodation with everything we needed. Large enough for the four of us to enjoy. Kitchen very well equipped, living flame fire gave out fabulous heat. Beds were very comfortable, nice linen. The area, Barter Books is a book lovers dream not to be missed. Eating out, highly recommend Sharhaan Indian Restaurant
Lovely comfortable and well equipped property in a really convenient location for both Alnwick and Northumberland. I would definitely recommend the apartment as a place to stay.
Denise
Excellent property in a perfect location, a short walk into Alnwick centre but super quite. The property had everything we needed and lots of extras. We would definitely return.
Leanne
Beautiful property, great location and facilities. I do think maybe the mattess in the double room next to the main bathroom needs replacing. And maybe some more hanging space in that same room. Would definitely come and again and highly recommend.
Treetops is a lovely flat, wellappointed and in a quiet area close to the town. However, for a 'four tick' rating it was disappointing there were the following issues. None of the plugs in the bathrooms worked, water constantly drained away in both the baths and the basins. The chest of drawers in the 'middle' bedroom was virtually unusable as the drawers either opened only partially or not at all. The fridge was constantly iced on the back, possibly due to the door not fully closing. Instructions on how to use the television would be helpful, fortunately we had a tech savvy person with us who was able to sort it so we had access all channels. Some of these issues have been previously raised, see comments in Visitors Book.
The property is excellent. Spacious, clean and comfortable. Stocked with all the necessary equipment and ideal for six people. Walking distance form Alnwick town and within easy reach of the beautiful Northumberland coast and pretty villages. Two car parking spaces and two door keys adds to the convenience. Perhaps a new toaster would be beneficial !
We were delighted with the accommodation it was top notch just as described. Great location in a lovely town. I would have no hesitation in recommending it to others
Lindsay
No issues as previous feedback with cleaning or being cold. We turned heating on when needed ! Only thing missing was a cafetiere as the local supermarkets didn't sell the coffee pods for the machine provided as we wanted decaf ones. That really was our only issue
Andrew
Bedrooms were cold on night time as we stayed over christmas could have been ... Bedrooms were cold on night time as we stayed over christmas could have been more cleaning materials so we could do kitchen benches as we went larger tv would be nice but thats just me would stay again

We had a wonderful stay, the property was beautiful and immaculately presented. It had everything we needed. The bedrooms did feel a bit cold, despite the heating being on, but it was particularly cold weather while we were and it didnt ruin our stay at all. We would love to come back.
We found the apartment very clean, warm and comfortable during our stay. Every amenity one would possibly require was available. Very well decorated and furnished. And plenty of space. In fact quite superb accommodation for our stay in Alnwick. Thank you.

We have just come back from a week in Alnwick at Treetops. The cottage is in a great location, well equipped and high spec in terms of fittings and furnishings. We did have a number of issues though. In our first evening the keys were not in the collection box. The cleaner had taken them home so we didnt get access till 7pm. Mistakes happen. Then however the cottage hadnt been cleaned to our expectations and the king size bed hadnt been made up as a twin as requested. The bathrooms felt grubby with hair on floors and on low ledges, the cupboards and the fridge hadnt been wiped out and we had a leak on a radiator and a blocked plug in the en suite sink. Not great. I must say though that Northumbria Cottages were prompt to rectify the situation sending a lovely alternative cleaner on Saturday and maintenance team in to sort things. Eventually everything was lovely.however for the price it should have been better. They need to replace the original cleaner thats for certain.
We had a fabulous time recent reviews worried us slightly, but our stay was just perfect. We arrived quite late the flat was warm and cosy. The beds were comfy, it was really clean and tidy, we were honestly so happy with the place. The rooms have been furnished beautifully and there was everything we needed. I would hate for other customers to see earlier reviews and be put off Treetops gave us exactly what we wanted and needed!
The property was lovely, as described and very nicely appointed. However, we were cold! It transpired that the boiler had no water in it, so we were cold on our first night not realizing this was the reason and when we got up in the morning there was no hot water anywhere for showers. Once we realized this was the problem and filled the boiler with water, it was very comfortable, but I would expect the owner or agent to keep an eye on something like this. Lovely apartment and well located.

We were extremely disappointed with the overall cleanliness and hygiene of this apartment, especially as this is an ongoing problem. The owners are aware of this situation previous complaints reviews, agree it is unacceptable but have failed to do anything! It is unacceptable but so is the owners lack of action. The bathrooms in particular need a thorough clean, especially the ensuite shower, which is still covered in mould. There was clumps of dust around skirting boards, dirty windowsills and filthy refuge bins in the main living area.
Lovely property which was exactly as advertised. It was very spacious for us as a family of 6 and was a perfect location close to the town. As lovely as it was the mezzanine area seems a bit of a missed opportunity as we didnt really use it and maybe could do with a little more up there, like a poolgames table and more bean bags which were very comfortable to use. We would definitely book again and would recommend to our friends and family.
The location and quality of the accommodation was just what we were looking for, a few minor niggles here and there, but we do have one major gripe. The bathrooms were plain dirty really, not clean at all. Accumulated dirt on the floor hairs, dust etc, mold in the bathroom and a very dirty bin in the ensuite room was simply unacceptable. It seemed that the bathrooms had barely been cleaned since the previous guests had stayed and are in dire need of a deep clean. This deeply tarnished what would otherwise have been a lovely break.

Hi Just back from a three nights stay in your property. Very bright, airy apartment.mezzanine space would be a great games area for children. Wellappointed with easy access to the town and surrounding villages. Loved the access to the back garden and parking was excellent. Very precise directions and instructions rions for gaining entry. Would certainly book again if I return to the area. Highly recommended. The 3 Blairs Fife Scotland

The flat was gorgeous, in the perfect position to explore Alnwick and all the sights of Northumberland. We even made it up to Edinburgh for the day! I would highly recommend a stay here.
