Swallow Cottage (nr Powburn) Reviews

Cottage was perfect for the two of us. It was in a central position for all the places we wanted to visit. The cottage was clean and very well equipped with everything we needed and more. Great location enjoyed walking around the lakes and use of the facilities very quiet place great for relaxing.
Comfortable and cosy. Nice quiet location, close to main attractions.
Very well equipped property with all you could want and more. Ideal for two people. Lots to do in the area, walking, visiting places etc.
A lovely little cottage set in a peaceful and pretty location. Lovely walks nearby. We'll equipped and comfortable.
We were worriedly about the glass shelf in bathroom as wall was cracked didnt feel safe we did not use it. Review Our fourth visit to this cottage ,lovely for two , walks out of door quiet , Small but well equipped will come again thank you Karen Sorry its a late review
A comfortable, home from home cottage, ideally situated to visit attractions in this beautiful part of Northumbria. Very quiet and local walks to nature reserve just outside door and road access easy to visit both NT properties and coast. Everything we needed at cottage, even a welcome pack which was a lovely thought after a long journey. We would definitely return.
My only reservation is that the sofa and easy chair are very low. Anyone with arthritic back and knees, like me, could struggle to get up from them. Other than that, lovely cottage and location.
Barney
A delightful base for both walking in the Cheviots and visiting Lindisfarne, Bamburgh and the Farne Islands. The cottage feels like a home, and is generously provided with OS maps, walking guides and DVD's. We wished we had booked for 2 weeks rather than one.
Patricia & Allan
Our only problem was the key safe was rather high up on the wall so I couldnt see the numbers. Fortunately another person much taller than me was passing and he opened it for me. I cant see any reason why it had to be so high up the wall. Otherwise the property was excellent.
Steven
Excellent property, everything worked, clean, comfortable and warm without the need for the log burner. Welcome pack much appreciated and did nothing to reduce my waistline !
Lovely property and great location to get around all the sights of Northumberland. The living area is bigger than the pictures make out.
Lesley
Swallow Cottage was the perfect location for a short break for the two of us, comfortable and wellappointed with easy access to local walking routes and interesting places to visit. I'm sure we will be back!
We had a fantastic week in this cosy, little cottage. There are lots of places to walk directly from the cottage with our favourite being the walk to the cafe in Ingram! It is also well placed for a short drive to castles, the beach and Holy Island. The cottage itself is compact but had everything we needed and was easy to find. It was a bonus to discover a nature reserve on the doorstep when we first arrived, a lovely place to walk after a long car journey.
Stephen
Thankyou for sharing your cosy little cottage with us. Fabulous accommodation with everything we could possibly need. Thankyou also for the lovely welcome goodies, much appreciated. So much to see and do around here without travelling more than 30 minutes. Highlights for us included Rothbury and the Simonside Hills, a visit to Bamburgh and the Castle, a walk from Ingram up to Linhope Spout nice cafe in Ingram too, Alnwick and Chillingham Castles, and Holy Island. Would definitely return!
Stephen
We enjoyed our week's stay in Swallow Cottage. Compact but clean and wellequipped it is ideally placed for walking and touring the region. We would certainly stay again and recommend.
Colleen
The cottage is delightful, well equipped and very comfortable. We absolutely loved our stay, not far from Cheddar but very much in the countryside. We really enjoyed the peace and quiet, and the little walks in the owners meadow, it was perfect and wed love to come back.
Alison
Swallow cottage was a lovely base for our holiday. Everything we needed was to hand. Very clean & tidy. Everything was easy to use.
Beautiful cottage met all our expectations.
Lovely. And clean everything you need for 2 I am booking again
Lovely weekend break, clean comfortable warm cottage with numerous extra touches. Love the area and hope to return.
This is a lovely cottage as a base for exploring Northumberland, with some nice walks straight from the door. I highly recommend it to any single person or couple who would like to explore Northumberland. This was my first visit in winter and I did worry about how warm it would be, but I needn't have, it was nice and cozy inside, despite sub zero temperatures outside. The Branton lakes were frozen over, which looked beautiful, only a few hundred yards from the house.
Great place to stay and the attention to detail made it a wonderful Christmas for my wife and I
Lovely welcome gifts and milk, washing liquid, foil and cling film all very helpful. Great location and had a few meals at the bosk that were very nice. We had an enjoyable stay a nice cottage in a lovely location.
Clean, comfortable and cosy cottage. In a very quiet location but within easy reach of the coast and the countryside.Really enjoyed our stay and will hopefully come back for another visit.
Delightful peaceful location good for hills or coast.
Excellent location quiet and close to fabulous hill walks. Wonderful welcome pack, well appointed cottage with good cooking facilities.
Our tenth visit to this cottage so something must be right! Saw my first red squirrel from the cottage window.
Lovely property well appointed in peaceful location and quiet.
A lovely little cottage wish I owned it. and location perfect for walking up onto Ingram Valley And Liner Spout. Beautiful scenery from windows and peaceful forecourt where we had our breakfast some mornings after doing our morning Tai Chi truly lovely.
The property was just as we required, comfortable and had everything that two pensioners required. We would definitely look at booking the same property again in the future.
