Rose House Reviews

Elizabeth
We found the accommodation to be spacious and warm. The cleanliness could not be faulted and cupboards were well stocked with equipment.
We had a fantastic week. The house is lovely and we appreciated the generous welcome basket. We had three generations of family plus a dog with us and there was plenty of room for everyone. Would definitely recommend.

Rose House is lovely. Welcoming and comfortable and warm. Perfect location, too. The owner was superresponsive to our queries. Unfortunately, now that Northumbria Coast and Country Cottages is part of Sykes, the service from the agent was not as personal as we have been used to, much more remote and difficult to contact.
Elizabeth
We had a wonderful stay at Rose House, my grandchildren visited over the weekend and fell in love with Alnmouth and the beautiful house. Everything had been thought out and we wanted for nothing, so well equipped and comfortable, the parking voucher was much appreciated, as was the goodies we received. I contacted the owner with a couple of questions both before and during, reply was quick and friendly so thank you. We would recommend this lovely place and company too, we hope to stay in Rose House again.
Rose House was ideal for our family gettogether. Its well equipped, spacious and ideally placed for great coastal walks. The local village store, pubsrestaurants and the excellent Scotts Deli proved their worth with plenty of veggie, vegan and GF options to suit our eclectic culinary needs! We would certainly return to Rose House again.
Rose cottage provided excellent accommodation for 6 adults, with no shortage of crockery, cutlery, glasses and pans. In fact can't think of anything it didn't have. Lovely to have the sun room as well as the sitting room for relaxing. Excellent location for the beach and the amenities of Alnmouth. Great to have the 2 parking permits and didn't have a problem leaving another car on the road near the beach. There was a problem with one of the boilers but this didn't prevent us from having a great holiday. Both the owner and Northumbria Cottages dealt with the issue considerately.
Comfortable, clean house in a great location.

Lovely house very spacious perfect location local to all amenities great idea re ... Lovely house very spacious perfect location local to all amenities great idea re parking permit has would have struggled with parking if not would highly recommend
Wonderful stay at Rose Cottage. Location is superb, so close to the beach and amenities of Alnmouth, but tucked down a quiet street. Easy parking with the permits and discs provided. House is spacious and very well equipped , a home from home. Plenty of space for our family of six adults, three children under 4years and two dogs!. Our bed in the back bedroom was a little soft and the curtains too lightweight to keep out the light at this time of year May. However the other bedrooms were perfect. Definitely the best house we have stayed in, for our annual family holiday!
Suzanne
The property was perfect very comfortable, wellequipped and in an excellent location. The living space downstairs was spacious and nicely decorated making it a great place to relax.
Absolutely love Alnmouth and this property is the best weve stayed at have been four times now. So comfortable and beautifully furnished, love the art work something new each time and great touches with all of the treats provided. Great location too. Well definitely be back again.
Had a lovely weekend in Alnmouth. Perfect get together with friends. Lovely walks from the house. Plenty of places to eat & drink in the village. Loved the conservatory & log burner.
Sharon
Lovely weekend fab kitchen 2 fridges, and 2 dishwashers 4 bathrooms and 1 washroom on top floor, Could have warmer quilts especially for top front room, in winter. Shower also on top floor, would recommend. Beautiful large rooms everywhere a very warm friendly house. Nice area to stay, handy for alnwick, Boulmer and all northumberland coast. Definitely would recommend and come back..
We enjoyed a second stay at Rose House, with about 20 years between visits! We are a group of women friends and remember the first time we stayed there were more single beds. This had suited us better but we made do with the doubles. We particularly enjoy cooking a Christmas dinner on one of the evenings and eating together and Rose House is good for this. We also used local restaurants which were great. We hopefully won't leave it 20 years before we come again.
Stewart
This is a lovely house and we enjoyed our stay. There was an issue with the smoke alarms that the owner resolved promptly. However, there were quite a few areas that needed a good clean, including the kitchen. We had to clean the cooker before use, but couldn't figure out how to remove the oven chips that had been left underneath the cooker. Bins hadn't been emptied, wood burner not cleaned after use we didn't use it and other issues. But the house is amazing and we will probably return.
Caroline
A really wonderful place for our family gettogether, so geared up for children but also beautifully and tastefully presented. We definitely hope to come again! Just a couple of things in the front fist floor bedroom one of the overhead light fittings was broken before we arrived! and the door into the ensuite there does not even latch, let alone lock neither were a problem for us but they may be for some people.
What an awesome property! Perfect location for everything that Alnmouth has to offer beautiful beaches, stunning walks, great pubs and restaurants aswell as good quality shops. Well laid out and spacious perfect for a large group or family. All facilities you could ask for and more. Highly recommended
This is a fab house. Perfect for our prep school reunion. All four of us are grandfathers and noted that it would be great for a family holiday. We enjoyed staying there very much.
Cheryl
Beautiful house and so close to the beach and the small village. The house has everything you need and is a great place for a family or exploring the area with friends. Highly recommended.
We absolutely love this property. So well maintained, beautiful decor loved the new art, comfortable and spacious. Our third stay here we will be back.
Christine
This was our fourth visit to Rose House and we had a lovely stay, very much like 'coming home! ' Easy access to the beach and places to eat and within driving distance to other favourite spots such as Boulmer, Alnwick and other coastal villages. Will be booking again next year.
Anthony
Location of the property is really good. However, the initial enjoyment was short lived when we discovered mould around the showersbath areas dirty saucepans and some crockery. Just generally unsatisfactory in the kitchen. I contacted the owner who was helpful and sympathetic and was meeting with his cleaning company on the morning we departed! He conceded that there had been previous issues too. All in all, our holiday could have been more comfortable and satisfying. Have heard nothing since!
Dianne
A beautiful house, equipped with everything you could need. The owner rang during our stay to check everything was OK for us which was a thoughtful gesture. Would definitely stay here again.
Beautiful house n a perfect location. We really enjoyed our stay at Rose House. Lots of space and really well equipped. Minor things to improve WiFi coverage poor in the front rooms of the house and could do with a booster. Downstairs shower wasnt working reported by previous stay
Lovely house comfortable well kept which our large family has stayed in before. Only problem was the downstairs shower not working. Was so useful last time coming back from the beach. And for me was very accessible as I'm up long before the rest of the family. Also be aware that splashes from the kitchen sink can dribble towards the kettle.
A very well equipped house with a layout that suited our family perfectly. Situated in very close to a beautiful beach where our Grandchildren spent many happy hours. Alnmouth is a great place to stay and perfectly located for days out to the many wonderful sites the area has to offer. It even has two golf courses.
Absolutely lovely house. Perfect location and very welcoming host. Thank you
A fabulous house in a superb location. Great for families or friends sharing a seaside getaway.
A great property, clean, comfortable and very well stocked with everything for a selfcatering stay. A great location with the added bonus of 2 street parking permits. Would definitely recommend and stay again.
