Lovely cottage, everything there that could possibly be needed. Only slight niggle is that freezer space is limited, but if you are eating out this would not be an issue. Otherwise everything perfect!
Louise
Ideal . Everything you need for a family stay . Excellent base for walking holiday with easy route to local town .

Great stay at Pond Cottage, wouldnt hesitate to return. Secure garden for our dog and spacious living area. Within 3540 mins walk from Alnmouth and a short drive to Alnwick. I actually left a sentimental item of clothing at the property and the owner posted this back to me! Thank you very much good communication and the hosts checked in on us throughout our stay!
Dorothy
We had a lovely week at Pond cottage, everything there that we needed except could do with a blind in the bathroom as quite exposed at night when you have light on. Garden was great for the dogs, would definitely recommend it for a family holiday.
Lovely accommodation. Beds very comfortable. Everything we needed was provided. Oven gloves would have been useful but we managed. Loads of wildlife and walks direct from the door. Thank you for a lovely holiday.
A beautiful and comfortable cottage on a peaceful farm. The cottage felt more spacious than the photos suggest and had all you might need in terms of amenities. Wooden Farm is only a short drive from Alnmouth, Walkworth, and Alnwick, and you are not far from the A1 to explore further afield in Northumberland. The quiet beach across from Alnmouth is only a short walk down the road.
Lovely property with super comfy beds and comfortable living space. . We felt relaxed and slept very well after a long day's birdwatching. The quiet of the farm was great and parking easy. Decoration in the rooms was very tasteful. We cooked and there was sufficient pots and pans to do this. The storage shed providing clothes dryer chairs etc was very welcome. Many thanks for a great stay and we hope to be back soon.
We had a great time at pond cottage. It was clean and cozy and we would recommend it to our friends and family. We do have one piece of feedback though For the price we paid for two nights it seems quite unfortunate that we could only arrive at 4pm and had to leave by 10am. Effectively, we ended up paying for a day and a half of the cottage. I understand cleaning staff must come in to clean, but it still seems that checkin could be earlier. The instructions also explicitly said to not as for early check in.

Enjoyed this property immensely, have no doubt we will look forward to returning. Peaceful safe , calm environment , ideal for do owners so many excellent walks to beach and surrounding villages . Was not keen on the security light outside room on all night but well run property and have no doubt this will soon be fixed .
6 adults and 3 dogs spent a lovely weekend at Pond Cottage.

Pond cottage was a perfect base for our Northumbrian holiday. It was warm, clean and comfortable, with everything we needed. The owners were extremely helpful and quick to answer any queries we had. We look forward to our next stay with them.

A beautifully appointed cottage in idyllic surroundings providing an excellent base for the fabulous North Northumberland coast and historic landmarks in the area. Ideal base to gather my family together to relax in comfortable conditions with every required facility nearby. Absolutely lovely holiday. We hope to return.
We stayed at Pond Cottage for a week in early August. The Cottage was everything we wanted, comfortable, clean and the owners were very friendly and kind. The location was beautiful, we enjoyed walks down the lane, along the footpaths either to the dunes by the sea or to Alnmouth along the path to the bridge. Our two dogs loved their runs on the beach and walks along the lanes and footpaths near the farm. We miss sitting on the bench in front of the cottage in the sun admiring the view with a morning coffee. Yes it is a working farm, for us that is part of its charm. So many castles and other places to visit as well as Alnmouth within easy reach. A day trip to Edinburgh, about an hour by train from Alnmouth station was an added treat.. Pond Cottage is on our revisit list .. so much more to do and see in Northumberland. Thank you from Sara and Martyn
I'm afraid the cockrels spoilt my visit to this lovely cottage in a lovely part of the country. Nonstop from the second the sun was even close to coming up. So much for a peaceful weekend. Should have taken the working farm as a warning
We had a great stay and the cottage was lovely, however, we think that if you take dogs then there should be an enclosed garden for them. This cottage did not have an enclosed garden, so this made things difficult. Also, the cockerels at the farm started making a row from 230am in the morning and woke me up several times. We also where unable to open the window in the bedroom as the noise was so bad.
No hot water due to faulty boiler. Not resolved. members of our party left the property a day early because of this. No compenstion for a totally ruined break.
The cottage was clean , The kitchen well equipped and suited all of our needs. The beds were very comfortable. The proximity to the coast is great . Up the behind the cottages are some lovely views. Warkworth beach is a short drive away. The Indian takeaway in Shilbottle is excellent. Thank you for the bottle of wine and the chocolates.
On first thoughts this cottage was clean and tidy and looks very comfortable. I had messaged the owners for some information and they very quick to get back to me. I am sure they are lovely people. However, being woken up every morning as early as 5am by Cockerels was not pleasant! They were then being let out at about 7ish as my son would be woken up between 7730 with one shouting at his window. The main bed was like a concrete pad with cracks in the frame, so everytime you moved it would make a noise. Also, the boil sounded like a train in the night behind the bedroom wall. If you didn't leave the boiler on, very little hot water in the morning! There generally wasn't enough hot water for 4 people to shower in the morning or night anyway. It was my fault for not reading. However, there is no washing machine at this cottage. So for us as a family of 4 and a dog for 7 nights was not practical. We have stayed in lots of cottages and this is the first one without a washing machine. The rest of the kitchen is fairly well equipped. We are from North Yorkshire and also have our own chickens and spend alot of time in the moors, so we are very much suited to country life. With all this said, we checked out 2 days early as we were all very tired from lack of sleep. For a family this cottage would be ok for a weekend, but that is it.
We really enjoyed our short stay at Pond Cottage. It was spacious and fully fitted out with everything that we could possibly need. The cottage was spotlessly clean, with very comfortable sofas and beds. Underfloor heating throughout made the stay a pleasure to come back to the premises after a long day out walking our two dogs on the stunning local beaches throughout the area. Hot running water and spacious spotless showers were a pleasure to use. With fast WiFi throughout the building and a large flatscreen smart tv left us not wanting for anything and regular contact from the owners to check we were happy with everything made the stay extra special. We will definitely return for another stay, thats if we can find a slot to book into
We had a lovely stay. The cottage was beautifully furnished & very comfortable. The wine & chocolates were a very welcoming touch. It was lovely to have everything on one level & the heart of the cottage being the sitting room & kitchen. When we were cooking & hanging out we were all together which was great. The views of the sea were lovely & there was a really nice walk down to the coast. Great location for us & our dogs.
Amanda
Beautiful cottage, very clean and comfortable. The location is perfect. You are out the way on a very quiet working farm but only 5 minutes away from Alnmouth by car, 15 minutes from Alnwick. Owners were very friendly and helpful
Claire
Enjoyed our stay in this lovely cottage. Good location for visiting beachestowns. The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay.
Had a lovely stay at Pond Cottage. The kitchen is really well equipped & bedrooms are comfortable. Lovely area to sit out in and enjoy the sunshine.
Lovely friendly owners who could not do enough for us
Dorothy
Great location with easy access to the coast and walks from the door. Lots of wildlife about! Helpful owners. Will visit again.
Cottage was gorgeous and very comfortable and clean. Myself, my son's and my wee dog stayed for 4 nights. I have mobility issues and use 2 sticks and would highly recommend this cottage for those who can't manage stairs ect. Really enjoyed having a ensuite bathroom which was a luxury for me. Only issue was no washing machine but this was not listed in cottage info so reasonable enough. Otherwise 100 happy. We loved the friendly curious cockerel. Nearly brought him back to Scotland with us
It is a lovely cottage. Very comfy beds. Immaculate. A brilliant base to explore northumberland. Mirrors in all the bedrooms would be my only suggestion. We would recommend it for all ages. We were a family of 6 aged from 5 to 55. We will definitely stay again in the future.
