Lovely house in quiet location with easy access to local beaches. Be aware that there are restrictions on beach access for dogs. Lacking a few kitchen items but overall very good. The downstairs windows were mostly blown which need replacing and beds on the small side, The inside of the house was excellent and has totally been refurbished. Garden secure and good for the children. Wouldnt hesitate to recommend to family and friends

Minus Points Insufficient waste baskets noneinsufficient power points in all roomsno non slip mats in showersno proper chopping boardsand maybe a few more mugs would be good. There is a tile dangerously close to the edge of the roof at the back left side of the house httpsphotos.app.goo.gloGg4J9EcB16YhEFi8 All in all an excellent property

Overall house was really nice and good location. Lovely garden and good lounge and kitchen. The kitchen really needs larger saucepans with more mugs and some waste bins in each of the bedrooms. Could really do with fans in the bedrooms. Bin cleaning needed especially for food waste as bin had maggots in it and was unable to use it.
We visited for a family holiday 6 Adults and 2 Children and found the accommodation to be ideal for our requirements. It is set in a lovely quiet spot with a safe outdoor space for the children to play, Within walking distance there are a couple of nice pubs and a local shop, but be aware of the very busy main road if you have kids. The house itself is well presented and clean, three good size double bedrooms and a smaller single bedroom which were all comfortable. Some fittings and fixtures are a little tired and worn the windows and handles are a bit ropey but nothing to spoil your holiday. Chideock is an ideal base to explore the local area, Lyme Regis is easy to get to, Bridport and West Bay also worth a visit, but do not overlook what's on the doorstep at Seatown and Charmouth, make the effort and climb Golden Cap and hunt for fossils on the beaches . If you get good weather you couldn't choose a better holiday and we were very lucky. Would I recommend and return? Yes on both counts.
Oakwood is a beautiful house, in a lovely quiet spot. Surrounding places of interest are in easy reach. The instructions for the dos and donts of this property are really well explained. We had a lovely welcome pack, and the house is very well equipped and spacious. A big thank you to the owners for allowing us to enjoy your beautiful house.
Nice property in lovely area. But on arrival we realised the septic tank was overflowing & then had to wait 2 days for it to drained. Also meaning we had to stay in 1 morning to give access. Trundle bed not made up, although we advised 2 babies & 2 children over 2 years. Some furniture unsuitable with young children & feel that property should only be marketed for older children.

Weve just arrived home after a 3 night stay at Oakwood. The directions to the property we had in advance were perfect. We pulled onto the large driveway and I was slightly apprehensive as some of the windows appeared slightly misted from the outside so I didnt know what to expect. We opened the door and I was blown away by how the property had been renovated and updated to make our holiday amazing. We stayed as an extended family group with 6 adults, 2 children and 2 dogs, the bedrooms are absolutely enormous with plenty of storage space and everything is decorated beautifully with fresh carpets and the bathroom, ensuite and downstairs toilet all brand new. It honestly felt like staying in a hotel. Well appointed kitchen with everything you could think of. Balls and garden games had been left so the children could play in the garden. A welcome pack had been left showcasing local produce, a pint of milk for that emergency first cup of tea and a binder full of local information so you can make the best of your time. The local pub is within walking distance. The property is in an ideal location for visiting local beaches, we visites West Bay, Charmouth great for fossil hunting Lyme Regis as well as Bridport town centre which has lots of places to grab lunch and a great array of shops including a brilliant toy shop. We will definitely be returning to the property, we had a fabulous stay, thank you!
Amazing property, with great sized rooms and accommodation. Kitchen was roomy and provided all facilities needed. Great location within walking distance to pub and shop. Short drive to beach and excellent walks. Provided the perfect backdrop for a family Christmas break.
