A small, clean and well equipped cottage, with instant access to Alnmouth high street for shops and restaurants and the sea is just near by, which makes us want to return. The were issues with the heating timing, a problem at this time of year.
We love this cottage. A few issues inasmuch as the water was never hot for showers or washing up, the bottom step outside is eroded and potentially dangerous , the overhead shower still drips constantly as it did a year previously and the fridge door makes a dreadful noise and needs adjustment. We will be booking again.
A lovely cottage for two people, this was our second time staying there. However, the heating and the hot water supply need attention we had problems with the heating on our first stay. The heating emitted a high pitched whistle as well as being erratic. The hot water, even on a low flow, never got hot enough. The silicone round the bath needed replacing.
Lovely cottage and in an ideal location. We would book again in the future if we were returning to Alnmouth.

We had to reduce the time we spent at Martins Cottage due to ill health. On arrival it was a cold night and though a starter pack for the fire was advertised the first thing we had to do was buy some logs. The mattress on the bed was just like those in the cottage next door where we have also stayed we zero support and like before would no doubt have ended with a bad back. Sofa wasnt very comfortable either. Overall the cottage is well equipped, clean and with freedom to have heating on as desired comfortable but the bed situation like next door means we wont be rebooking.
This was our second visit to Alnmouth and like last year it was lovely! We love the cottage which is beautifully decorated and has everything we needed. The walled garden is superb. We will be returning next year!

Well maintained very clean, and well equipped, comfortable cottage in a good location. The parking place is a bonus. Useful information provided, we would recommend Sunday lunch at the village golf club.
This was our 5th visit to Martins Cottage. We will be retuning in January 2024 and have also booked for January 2025. A lovely place to spend a week.
A lovely, well appointed property. It was warm and clean and was like a home from home. The owners are very friendly and having them live close by is an asset. We did struggle with the new door key however as it was very difficult to use until it was oiled and it was becoming more stiff as we left. We can't wait to return in March 2024 and May 2025!

We really enjoyed our stay in Martins Cottage as it is extremely comfortable, well maintained and beautifully furnished and equipped and the garden was delightful. It benefits from having parking nearby and is in an ideal location for exploring Alnmouth and the surrounding areas. I would strongly recommend Martins Cottage and can't wait to return.

Off street parking, very quiet garden with seating. Martins cottage was perfect for us as on one level, clean, well equipped even a welcome gift. Close to restaurants, shops, and pubs. Easy walking to countryside and beach areas.

The only thing we could have done with was a small set of steps. Some shelving very high and a bit wobbly standing on one of the chairs. Otherwise everything good and we hope to stay again.

The cottage was pleasant, well equipped and in a good location. Good bath. Nice log burner but no logs on arrival which was disappointing. Also no salt and pepper which I would consider a standard requirement. Had to go out and buy a few basics, difficult to know in advance what will be there when you turn up. Info said shoe rack and slippers provided but they weren't there and although quite obvious where the very pretty garden was it would have been nice to have been told!

The added bonus of parking and a delightful shared wall garden meant my holiday was perfect.I apologise for misreading the parking space ,as I thought I needed to park parallel to the other cars not the wall and I hope it did not create too many problems for others.Shirley Crook

Our third visit to Martins' Cottage. Really enjoyed them all.
Pretty much our ideal way to visit Northumberland. Very comfortable and well equipped, parking is easy and Alnmouth's facilitiespubs, restaurants , shops, and its wonderful coast line are a short walk away.
Martin's Cottage is a firstclass facility . . . highly recommended! The only shortcomings, as reported to the owner, were the wifi connection TV resolved, the operation of the wood burner and the insecure tap in the kitchen.
This was our 4th stay in this cottage. We have already booked to return in November 2023. I think that says it all!

The cottage is lovely and is used throughout the year. Regular checking of the facilities should be checked including the microwave. We contacted the office regarding the rug and crockery. The owner responded immediately. We were very happy to stay there and have enjoyed staying there in the past. Very central for all the facilities the village offers. Beautiful area. Missing it already!
My wife & I enjoy the comfort of Martin&rsquos cottage and the situ in Alnmouth, as we have been many times, the kitchen has everything that&rsquos needed, bathroom excellent, also comfort.
