Lavender Cottage Reviews

Thank you for having us in your lovely cottage over the Christmas period. We had a lovely time, appreciated the treats left for us, and thoroughly enjoyed our cosy home with log burning stove. The place is furnished beautifully and has real charm and character. Glanton is so beautiful and peaceful too. A Christmas we will always remember
A lovely comfortable cottage, nicely decorated and furnished, with helpful owner.
A lovely, clean and well equipped cottage. Perfect spot for exploring the area.
Lovely little cottage in a beautiful location. Only used it as a base whilst visiting our son, but it looked as if the kitchen was well equipped if needed. The bathroom is downstairs, so I would suggest that this is taken into consideration if elderly or children are staying. We would definitely consider staying in this cottage again if in the area, and a big thank you for being dog friendly.
Very clean, and comfortable cottage. No issues with parking and could not get any closer to the pub.
Lavender Cottage is in a quiet village where the on street parking was never a problem. The cottage is clean and cosy with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The large log burner will make winter breaks very pleasant . We really appreciated the fresh milk, biscuits and wine left for us by the owners. A lovely touch that made us feel especially welcome.
Carole
An excellent cottage, we really enjoyed our stay, and lots to do in the surrounding area. We appreciated the welcome gifts

This is a fantastic property, this is the third time we have stayed and have ... This is a fantastic property, this is the third time we have stayed and have never been disappointed, the dogs loved the gift of biscuits as well
Lovely cottage, everything here to make it a great holiday. Welcome gift a nice touch and would recommend to friends and family.
Jacqueline
The cottage felt a bit cold on arrival but soon warmed up. It was very comfortable and well stocked with a nice welcome pack and is a fantastic base from which to explore the county. We would definitely seek to rent this cottage again.
Great cottage, plenty of space. Very cosy real fire and well equipped. Really enjoyed our stay.
A beautiful cosy cottage for lovely Autumn getaway! The cottage was warm, cosy and comfortable. Both bedrooms were a really good size, and the beds comfortable. The wood burning stove in the lounge was a real treat and we got it going relatively easily. There was plenty of space to cook and eat too. The surrounding area was lovely. The pub opposite, was welcoming and had a good selection of beers. The location was great, a great base for exploring the coast as well as inland. Alnwick for the big supermarkets wasn't far, and Wooler was great for the little bits. We definitely hope to be back soon!
We had an enjoyable stay at Lavender Cottage, it was clean, tidy and warm. I appreciated the amount of kitchen equipment available, far better than other places we have visited.

Lavender Cottage is very comfortable and in a peaceful location making it the perfect base for exploring beautiful Northumberland. We had a very enjoyable week.
Andrew
Fantastic property in lovely central location, very comfy & we'll equipped, only reason didn't give it full marks is single bathroom with toilet which we knew about when booking but can be a bit of a pain when sharing with another couple as we were & back 'garden' very small . Pub landlady & regulars on other side of road very friendly. All said we had a great week here.
Jeremy
Lovely cottage, very comfortable. Perfect to come to home to after a day's walking. Very sweet neighbour who gave us tips about local walks. Wine and biscuits left for us was a nice touch.
Lavender Cottage was a joy, everything we could have wished for. Great location to explore beautiful Northumberland. One of the many reasons we chose Lavender Cottage was that there was a s a pub in the village. Unfortunately The Queens Head wasnt the warm friendly place we were hoping for, the nearest pub doing food was The Tankerville Arms. This is a great place but involved driving.
Absolutely lovely cottage, beautiful fittings and had everything we needed. Great information too. The owner was so helpful when we had a problem with the smoke alarms too. Nothing was too much trouble. Just a couple of things, the TV aerial cable is very weak and the signal was badly affected at times. Also the outside garden light was not working. Great experience!
Jacqueline
Glanton is a perfect village if looking for peace and quiet and is central for pretty well every place of interest. We found Lavender cottage to be a welcoming stay after a long journey with its comfy sitting room and spacious bedrooms and the modern kitchen made our lives easy! The extra welcome was thoughtful and a great start to a great week.
A lovely comfy cottage well located to visit all that the area has to offer
This was a lovely place to stay, it had everything you needed and so comfortable. Ideal place to visit all of Northumberland
Amazing cosy cottage, pictures dont do it justice. Beautifully presented and the main bedroom is huge! The welcome gifts were greatly appreciated after a long drive and even the doggies got a treat. We had a lovely stay and the cottage is ideally situated to explore the beauty of Northumberland.
Had a very pleasant few days at Lavender Cottage at the end of April. The cottage was really clean, well equipped with large comfortable bedrooms. The wood burner was a welcome addition as the weather was quite cold and without it the cottage would have been a bit cool in the evenings. Location was nice and quiet and handy for lots of visitor attractions.
Lovely cottage. We had such a fab time
Really enjoyed our stay at Lavender Cottage. Nothing not to like!
Debbie
Lovely cottage in a beautiful little village. Really well located for visiting the coast and for Morpeth and Newcastle. Cottage was spotlessly clean and a lovely welcome pack was left. Great bedrooms and decor.
Lovely cottage in a quiet and friendly village. The place was very clean and comfortable. A beautiful part of Northumberland to visit and Edinburgh is only 2 hours away. The only thing that did not work well was the WIFI.
Matthew
Generously proportioned and elegantly restored cottage in a pleasant and handily placed village. We used it as a base for walking the Cheviots a lovely area but on the days when the weather kept us from the high fells we popped to the coast. Opposite the village pub, which makes up in friendliness what it lacks in beer choice. Very comfortable stay two happy and tired dogs at the end of the week.
Claire
Beautiful location, very clean and comfortable had a lovely stay there and central to the sights of stunning Northumberland.
Elaine
We had a lovely weekend at Lavender Cottage in Glanton. The cottage is a great mixture of traditional and contemporary styles and had everything we wished for. It has a stylish living room, a good log fire and the kitchen is modern and well equipped. The bedrooms are both really well presented, with comfy beds and a good range of furniture. We found Glanton to be a quiet Northumberland village and a great place to exlpore from, with some good local walks available and excellent outdoor eating experiences within reach. We would love to go back again for a longer stay.
Jennifer
Lavender Cottage provided a fantastic base for us to explore Northumberland. The Cottage was clean, well equipped and homely making it ideal for a selfcatered holiday. There was adequate parking directly outside the house. We would definitely stay again and would highly recommend.
This was a great place, that made for an excellent base for exploring the surrounding area we concentrated on the coast. Instructions were straightforward, and the kitchen was really well setup for selfcatering. The cottage is finished to a really high standard, and we would definitely go back.
We found Lavender Cottage charming, comfortable, good wi if and very well equipped in every respect. The hosts couldnt have been more welcoming. Very well placed for visiting all the sites that Northumberland has to offer. I would thoroughly recommend it.
Lovely cottage in great location. Very homely and well equipped. Immaculate throughout and excellent communication with owner.
Dianne
We were delighted with our stay at Lavender Cottage. Darrens welcome email was a lovely touch and provided helpful information about finding the property, local services and things to doplaces to go. He also invited us to contact him if there were any problems, which was reassuring and thankfully unnecessary. The cottage is lovely. It had everything we needed, including the peace and quiet of a sleepy hamlet. Its a great location for exploring the coast, borders and Kielder as well as Alnwick and Cragside had it been a little further from the summer solstice, stargazing would have been excellent, too. Theres no problem with parking on the road right outside and the majority of traffic we saw was flocks of sheep. Our basic checklist is a sense of security, a decent hot shower and a comfortable bed and Lavender Cottage delivered all three. Its cool when the temperature rises with very effective heating panels when it drops a little cooler. I expect that the fires in lounge and bedroom would be a treat in late autumnwinter. The kitchen was well setup with crockery, cutlery and cooking equipment and lacked only a freezer compartment for ice cubespacks, which is a minor concern. It was spotlessly clean and light with a good amount of space. Not only was the lounge a comfortable and relaxing place, but there were games and books for entertainment and we were able to login to our own Netflix account on the TV. Both bedrooms are beautiful and the master much more spacious than wed expected. The addition of a hairdryer would make it perfect. We couldnt have asked for a better place for our holiday and were keen to return ourselves as well as recommending to family and friends.
