The cottage itself was very good in all senses. Comfortable and high standards throughout. Just be aware of the minimal parking opportunities in high season and during late afternoon if returning to Alnmouth.
A little gem in the heart of Alnmouth. Very comfortable and well equipped, an Ideal retreat for 2 people to explore the local walks, both countryside and coastal. An excellent village store next door provides all provisions for your stay. The Hope and Anchor run by Tracy gives a warm welcome and hearty food. The deli across the main street provides fresh coffee, cakes, bread and interesting tasty ready meals to reheat and a good range of beer & wines to complement a cosy evening in at 5 Bells. We travel by train, an easy 1 mile walk down from the station to 5 Bells. We will be booking our 3rd stay for 2027!
Pleasant cottage with well equipped kitchen and comfortable bed. Excellent location to access pubs, shops , cafes and restaurants. Cottage is a little dark and constant hot water variable. In October parking not a problem but could be in the busy summer months.
The cottage is in an ideal location, just a short walk to the estuary, the beach and Bracken Hill. The cooking facilities are perfect with everything needed in the way of pots, pans and crockery. Wee negatives were the large, deep sofa and the high bed, but I am only short so they might be ok for anyone else, and it wouldn't put me off staying here again.

Great Location , comfortable and well equipped cottage . Parking a slight issue but never unable to park a short distance from the cottage . .
Very comfortable and well equipped. Other feedback noted a problem with parking but we found parking spaces with no problem. Great location for exploring the area.

Literally the perfect place to stay in Alnmouth. It felt like my home rather than a holiday let. We are regular visitors to Alnmouth and will definitely book here again. A lot of visitors mention parking as an issue but it is a small beautiful place so the compromise with that is limited parking. You can always get somewhere to park and everywhere is only a 5 mins walk away at most.

Bathroom tap a bit awkward. Fridge freezes over a bit . Nothing that ruined our stay and cottage fabulous

Lovely cottage in a great location. Parking a bit of an issue but did not cause us any issues. Very clean beautifully appointed property.

We have stayed here before and it's perfect for us. Everything is good about it. Always clean and thank you for the biscuits and beer etc much appreciated. This break was what we needed as I am recovering from cancer. And has definitely put me in a better place with myself and hubby. Will definitely be booking again.
It was lovely to go back to a cottage we'd stayed in before, some years ago and to find it completely modernized so tastefully. It's in the best location in Alnmouth and we were so pleased that we could come by train, avoid all the parking dilemmas and buy and eat locally. All the cottage facilities were excellent. A real top rating from us!
We have been holidaying in Alnmouth for over 30 years and stayed at several establishments but this little gem is by far the best. Perfect for 2 people, very comfortable, clean and well maintained. Situated on Northumberland street next to the Puffin storepost office, across from an amazing deli called Scotts, plus the Hope & Anchor pub run by Tracy, always very welcoming & hearty meals. This is an ideal base for discovering the coastal paths & countryside walks. We travel here by train, as Alnmouth station is one mile walk away, parking can be a bit of a challenge sometimes. Thanks 5 Bells for our welcome treats, we will be back next year.

The cottage was very confortable and very well equiped, the accommodation was very good value when compared to local Inns accommodation. The only downside was the lack of car parking, however, I would imagine that would be applicable to a lot of holiday lets in Alnmouth. That said, it wouldnt stop us going back.

Wonderful cottage with everything we needed. Alnmouth is a lovely village. The parking was a bit of a struggle but cant be helped
Christopher
A lovely clean cottage. Very central for everything. Every comfort you needed was there. We look forward to returning in the future.
A great wee base from which to explore the area. The cottage was clean, very cosy and had all the facilities needed for a relaxing stay. Highly recommended. Note that there is no parking in the lane outside the cottage but I was always able to get a space on Northumberland Street.
Very much enjoyed the stay at Five Bells. The cottage was well kept and tidy. Some excellent pubs and cafes for eating out. Good food at the Sun Inn. Some interesting food and very good coffee at Scott's deli across the road. A perfect location for a quiet break.

Great cottage, really well equipped, in a lovely village that offers everything. Was difficult to keep the lounge warm during the cold weather and over new year parking was more of a challenge than was suggested in the property information.
A comfortable stay. Locality to amenities is good. Just one suggestion & that is maybe a choice of pillow, medium firm
Gorgeous comfortable cottage very close to all amenities. Perfect
Lovely property and kind gestures on our arrival. In the heart of Alnmouth, so perfect for a carfree seaside holiday
Andrew
Ideally located and very well equipped.

Beautiful well equipped cottage . Only gripe was lack of parking but not the owners fault . Would 100 stay here again . Lovely welcome pack . Could literally just walk in and make a cuppa . Alnmouth is a beautiful place we stay in the village at least once a year .
Gorgeous cottage with everything you could need for a perfect holiday! Thank you!

We had a very comfy stay at 5 Bells Cottage, it was very clean and well maintained. It was handy for shops pubs and restaurants.
The cottage is listed as pet free but past pets may have been had. We found dog hairs on the carpet and a dog bowl under the sink. Also the join between the seats on the sofa was full of old crumbs etc and could do with a good clean. The bed is extremely large and creaks when you turn over. Maybe a smaller bed frame would be more beneficial in that room. The parking could do with sorting out as lots of cars go up and down that little roadway for parking further down, or even a prepaid spot at one of the pubs so that you can get a parking spot without having to drive numerous times around the village. Other than that the cottage was excellent for a stay. Alnmouth is beautiful and we've loved it for years. Unfortunately due to the above it's doubtful we will return to this lovely cottage which is a shame as the location and facilities etc is perfect
I dont think the listing does the place justice. The cottage is fabulous, extremely clean and comfy and well stocked especially kitchen Bathroom has a lovely shower and heated floors. Very comfy bed and a cot was placed in our bedroom upon request. Cottage right in heart of Alnmouth and although no parking bay, we managed to obtain free parking very close by on every occasion. Would certainly recommend this cottage.
Lovely cosy cottage with nice locally sourced treats to welcome us, thank you.

We thought Five Bells was a delightful cottage, ideally located for exploring the coast and surrounding area. The cottage itself was very well equipped the owners had thought of almost everything. We werent expecting a roll of kitchen towel and we were told by Sykes to bring our own tea towel, but this was also supplied. The Nespresso machine along with capsules was a lovely touch. We were also greeted with a box of shortbread, milk and two bottles of beer. The only omission is that the cottage does not have its own recycling bin, but when I spoke to a neighbour about this she kindly said we could use hers. Incidentally Alnmouth does not recycle glass so you will need to take this home or drive to a recycling bank. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was amazing. We couldnt fault the cleanliness of the whole cottage. A previous reviewer mentioned the parking and this is definitely something guests who are thinking about staying at Five Bells should consider. The cottage itself has no parking and we had to park illegally upon our arrival to unload. My partner then drove off to find somewhere to park and was some distance away. This didnt bother us as we are active people but might be an issue for some. Alnmouth is a very popular place and parking is at a premium. When we had days where we used the car we made sure to stay out until between 5 and 6 pm to have a better chance of getting reparked, which we always managed, but only just on one night. We did not dine in the Indian Restaurant in Alnmouth, as the night we thought about it, the restaurant was completely empty never a good sign and upon checking the reviews they were not good. We can highly recommend Mumbai in Alnwick very reasonably priced and fantastic food.

We had a lovely 5 night stay in this comfortable and very well equipped cottage. It truly exceeded our expectations . It was spotlessly clean , freshly decorated and warm during a cold spell. The bed and pillows were especially comfortable and the shower is very good. We appreciated the milk and beers in the fridge and the Nespresso coffee pods. Thank you. We had everything we needed, apart from small things like salt now supplied , a vegetable peeler and a bath mat. The cottage is in a fabulous location on a quiet cobbled lane but very close to a beautiful beach, a handy shop and good pubs etc. Parking was ok for us , but might possibly be tricky during busier times. Wed definitely stay again if we were fortunate enough to be in this wonderful part of the country. We did think that the access and evacuation times set by Sykes were a bit unreasonable post Covid.
