Estuary View Reviews

Barbara
It is our second time here in a year. That says it all. And we shall return!
Joanna
Really lovely house, perfect position, and very well equipped and comfortable. We hope to return. Many thanks.
Absolutely loved our stay at Estuary View. A quirky yet comfortable property. The layout suited us perfectly, although quite a climb to the top floor bedrooms, with ample room to spread out. Parking is tight but manageable. Stunning sunset views over the estuary. One of the best Alnmouth properties weve stayed in.
Debbie
A lovely property in an ideal location. Spotlessly clean and well equipped. We loved the wall art. Stairs to the top floor are small and steep when carrying cases, but view from window was amazing. Gardens are lovely.
Kenneth
Excellent village centre property which is well equipped and clean. One small suggestion, a fold up clothes drying rack would be a useful addition.
Alexandra
The house was perfect. It was comfortable, spacious and the garden was particularly stunning, with a fabulous view. The kitchen and the house in general was well equipped, which made it easy to settle in quickly and start enjoying our holiday. The second sitting room upstairs was a real boon, as it meant the two teenagers in our party could have their own space when they wanted it. We would definitely stay here again.
Lawrence
An excellent stay. Estuary View is an ideal base for a relaxing break. You immediately feel at home and the accommodation is comfortable and wellequipped. My sense is the space and furnishings are quite personal to the owners and we are incredibly grateful to them for sharing it. You even have a hatch from the kitchen to the lounge. Life changing stuff!
Samantha
Well appointed and spotlessly clean holiday home. Experience let down by parking situation which we felt was not honestly described on Northumbria Coast & Country Cottages website prior to booking and taking payment. Felt property was overpriced considering the lack of parking. Only found out about parking situation when contacted owner a week before holiday who did provide honest and accurate parking information. Have stayed in similarly sized, equally clean and well appointed holiday homes with plenty of off road parking for less. Listing says off road parking for one medium sized car, what it failed to say was that it was down a narrow lane with tight turns and other residents' cars parked on the corners. Managed to just about get our medium sized car down on arrival but was a struggle and couldn't get out next morning because of where other cars had parked. The additional parking a short walk from property, also described on Northumbria Coast & Country Cottages website, was often not that short a walk from the property, especially if you'd been out for the day with picnic bags, walking boots etc. We didn't holiday with children but if we'd have had pushchairs etc too this would have been even worse. Certainly did not make arrival, unpacking, repacking and departure an easy experience. Would not recommend unless you are travelling in a Fiat 500 or similarly sized car!
Christine
This is our second stay at this property, and just love everything about it. The views the quiet, the comfort, its a perfect stay with parking too. What is not to like.
Barbara
Estuary View is quite frankly the best holiday home we have ever stayed in. Everything about it was to our taste. The location was great right in the centre of Alnmouth, with fantastic views over the estuary. The house was lovely and warm, with the best and most efficient wood burning stove we have experienced. The bed and seating was comfy, it was spotlessly clean, and had an excellent supply of quality kitchen equipment. We could not fault anything at all, nor suggest anything that would have made it better for us. Can we compliment the owners for their attention to detail. We did not want to leave, and shall be back as soon as possible!
Estuary View is a lovely property set in an idyllic location. The views are wonderful and watching all the birds and wildlife from the terrace was so peaceful and relaxing. The house itself is beautifully furnished with so many thoughtful and attractive touches. So good to rent a property with books, which always make a house seem like a home! The beds are comfortable and the whole property was clean and well equipped. The gardens are on several levels and it would have been nice to have a couple of chairs on the lower level so as to be able to sit there as well as on the upper level, but am sure that these are provided during the warmer months. Id especially like to mention that it was so nice to be warm! The house heats up well and its easy to adjust the heating if necessary. Lovely sitting room with spectacular views and another sitting room upstairs to watch tv which would be very handy for larger groups of people. Two bathrooms, both of which were spotlessly clean. We have a small car so parking wasnt a problem at all. Alnmouth is charming and lots to see and explore, with lovely walks along coastal path and beaches and plenty of nice places to eat. This is a very attractive property, which is clearly wellloved and well looked after. Many thanks for a lovely visit, and we look forward to returning in the future.
Claire
This is our second visit to this property. The house is lovely and in a fabulous position. The issues with the parking are real and properly hilighted in the description. We had a small car, we were just able to fit. We had two cars and the other was left on the street, but the parking in alnmouth is such that I didnt want to move it once it was parked. Any family with a big car or two cars will face a real problem with parking. The only issues I wanted to raise with the property were these There are no oven gloves, which we really missed, and the drier did not appear to workall four of us failed to get it to start after getting soaked on a walk. Otherwise we had a really lovely stay.
Louise
This was our third stay at Estuary View, and we had a wonderful time. The views out to the estuary are stunning, and constantly changing. The house has a charm that we just love. A short walk to the sea, we were on the beach every day with the kids. The owner Hellen did everything to make us feel welcome and comfortable during our stay. We had everything we needed, and the house was very clean and well equipped. Alnmouth is a special place and we will definitely be back for a fourth stay!
Would highly recommend. Only one small downside. The offstreet parking would struggle to accommodate a large SUV or estate car.
Pauline
Please note that it was my son who chose the property for us to stay in. A lovely location in terms of the village and great walks. Loved the kitchen facilities which were very well stocked for home cooking. Great wifi. Found some parts of some toys Lego and some game cards under one of the settees on the ground floor when looking for an item of ours that had rolled under it. Too many flights of steps for those with a young baby. Not sure about some of the art painted wooden boards and shed door. House located in a backwater with parking a nightmare to get in and out of. Had a neighbour requesting that we move our parked car from the allocated space on the day of departure at 9.30am so that they could get their own car out which was not great when trying to pack up and go. Overall we enjoyed our stay.
Loved staying in your property. So nice to find rental property with personality in the decor and a bit of soul. Loved the beautiful garden and fabulous views too. We'll be back for sure.
Louise
The house was in such a fantastic location and we all fell in love with it, it was great to have all the amenities so close by . I just sat with my camera looking out over the estuary and saw an incredible array of bird life from from waders, finches, songbirds , kestrels to a barn owl . The garden was beautiful and all the facilities were excellent . The only problem we had was getting to the parking space as our car is quite wide and the lane is extremely narrow but we just parked on the road instead . The other small problem was the neighbour when we were barbecuing She didnt like listening to the gypsy kings and Dean Martin summertime music but the old sourpuss didnt spoil it for us. We really had a great time .
Claire
The cottage is fabulous. The owners clearly love it and have furnished it with a lot of thought and style. The views are stunning. The kitchen is very well equipped and everything was in good working order. The only issue I had, which was purely personal was the firmness of the mattress on the double bed. It was too firm for me. Otherwise, we had a really enjoyable stay. The parking place is really tight, which the owners had hilighted, and meant that we tended to park on the road for ease.
Joanna
Gorgeous property, beautifully decorated, perfectly located.
A superb location with a marvellous view and a lovely garden. We had a wonderful stay in estuary View. Slightly surprised to find no welcome pack, not even a pint of milk. This house is so well equipped and in good order. Thank you so much.
Christine
This was an amazing property to stay in, everything was just perfect, cooking in the kitchen was a joy, napping on the sofa on a rainy afternoon was bliss. The comfort, the views, was just top notch. Its a long time since we have stayed anywhere for two weeks, but I can honestly say we could have stayed longer. Thank you so much. We will be back
Simeon
We really enjoyed our stay in Alnmouth a beautiful little town and fabulous beach. Estuary view was really well equipped, with comfortable beds and lots of places to relax and hide away if you needed to including in the amazing garden with views across the estuary. The kitchen and utensils could have been cleaner and getting from the road to the parking space was especially tortuous, which should probably be highlighted in the description as it really doesn't suit larger cars. Aside from that though, we had a very enjoyable holiday.
James And Lesley
We loved the house, ideal for our yearly family get together. Everyone enjoyed the house and garden and we immediately rebooked for next year.
Catherine
The only reason I didn't give five stars for the accuracy of listing was that I think perhaps more could be said about just how difficult it is to access the parking space. We were very glad we came in our car rather than our friend's who we were sharing with much larger car. But apart from that the house was a delight. Everything we needed was provided, the views and the garden were glorious and the house full of interest and colour. It was immaculate and extremely comfortable. We would return in a heartbeat. Our only other suggestion was that we would have loved the table by the window to have leaves so it could seat four . It would be lovely to eat there.
We love the house & hope to return. Quirky & comfortable. Really well equipped. Fantastic views & location. Only thing we arrived late after work in the dark & the directions to find it on Lovaine Terrace are terrible we got to number 4 & thought we'd booked somewhere that didn't exist really stressful arrival! Better directions & better information about the parking are needed before arrival please. Also some information between website & cottage is out of date. But it was a lovely holiday in a lovely place, thank you to the owners for the use of their beautiful house.
We absolutely loved staying at Estuary View, the house is perfect for a family. We loved the funky colours and thoughtful decorative touches like the lamps and furniture. We so enjoyed the glorious views over the Estuary, we will be back.
Excellent holiday home with homely furniture and well equipped kitchen. Spacious bedrooms with plenty of storage and comfortable beds. Perfect location to explore the village of Alnmouth and the surrounding area.
Fantastic property, super clean and super views. This place is excellent!
Very peaceful with everything needed for a family. We loved the books and the garden. Immaculately clean. We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you!
Fantastic property very clean with all the facilities you could wish for. Wonderful views from the bedrooms
We love this property and have stayed here many times over the last 10 years. The updates in the bathrooms and the top bedroom are welcomed. The views are amazing and provide an ever changing picture. The house is comfortable and cosy . One of our favourite places to stay.
Quirky, homely property with fabulous views
Beautiful view over the estuary. Convenient base for walks in Alnmouth. Close to restaurants.
Our fourth Autumn holiday here, lovely as always. Perfect location for walks on the beach and round the estuary, and using the local shops and cafes. Always nice to experience the Remembrance Day service at the War Memorial.
A great location and property.
Staying in one of the coloured houses was a wonderful experience. We had not realised they were such a local land mark. The location couldn&rsquot have been better. The house was very well equipped.
Excellent holiday in a good property in a great location.
Clean, warm, comfortable and well equipped. I liked the strong colours, the quality of fixtures and fittings and the abundance of books which implies a generosity not always evident in holiday properties.
This was our second short break at Estuary View. It was good to see that regular maintenance takes place, and upgrades to the facilities. The space works well for our party, and the facilities are very good, we could find most things we needed. It&39s a home from home.
