Cushat house is very dog friendly with a secure garden and throws so they can sit with you on the sofa . The house its self is very welcoming and you feel at home right away . The area is very quiet but you are only ten minutes away from the beach or town . The goodies what they leave for you are a lovely welcome gift and the ginger cake is amazing. This property excels at every level for a holiday. The facilities inside and out will meet any discerning customers needs of comfort and practicalities. In addition it's proximity to many seaside towns and villages is a real bonus. Quiet beaches abound. In over two decades of holiday rentals Cushat House sits proudly, very, very high. Also thankyou to the owners for a message saying they will post back dog lead and whistle..........even before we arrived home. Already booked for 2026.

Cushat house was amazing. The facilities were above and beyond. Welcome breakfast food in the fridge. There was nothing that the owners hadnt thought of. Little touches that you dont get everywhere. They supplied dog biscuits and dog bowls,dishwasher tablets, pegs the list is endless. Also a large BBQ which we enjoyed. A great base for visiting the lovely surrounding villages etc. Only 1 hour on the train to Edinburgh. We would 100 recommend this property. It is beautiful and the owners were available if you needed anything

This is one of, if not the best Sykes cottage weve ever stayed in, and weve stayed in a few! Immaculately clean, comfy, v high quality fixtures and furnishings, decked out with literally anything you could possibly need. Even had a bag of chargers and adaptors! Welcome cake, sausages and bacon, milk. Super helpful owners, attentive and always on hand to assist with any questions. Stunning garden and general location, not overlooked so felt private. Cushat house is a lovely property. It was spotlessly clean and had everything possible to ensure our visit was comfortable and totally enjoyable. Lesley and Terry had kindly put up a Christmas tree and some decorations so it was like home from home the minute we opened the front door. There was really nothing more we could have asked for. It's also a beautiful area. We spent time in Alnwick, Warkworth, Amble, Craster and Embleton. All within easy reach. Top marks all round.

The best holiday cottage we have been to. We have a few cottage holidays each year and we can honestly say that this is the most comfortable that we have been to. The house itself is very well equipped and very comfortable, the enclosed garden ideal for dogs. The location is also very convenient with beautiful beaches and countryside very close by. Had a wonderful week here. ..property was immaculate and had everything you could possibly need. Very dog friendly...with welcome treats, blankets and bowls...even a dog brush. Lovely welcome treats for humans too. We went first week of September and weather was lovely...lots of nice walks on the beautiful beaches in this area. Would definitely recommend.

Wow Wow Wow What an amazing house, 5 stars all the way. We stayed for the last 2 weeks of August and could not fault anything, many extra supplies for us to use throughout the 2 weeks. There was also dog treats, blanket, poo bags....our dog Hannah loved them all. Terry the owner was in touch to make sure everything was ok, checked if we wanted the lawns cutting and towels changed. Cushat house was an excellent place to stay, the attention to detail was outstanding and the owners have thought of everything you need and might possibly forget. Great location, immaculate, comfortable, beautiful gardens and perfect for the dogs. The garden is enclosed and safe for them or children. This is the third time that we have been to Cushat , mostly in November which was a bit cooler so we had much more chance to enjoy the garden in summer sunshine which was lovely. Garden perfect and 100 dog proof and the facilities in terms of treats, blankets, bowls etc for our beagle was really brilliant and thoughtful. Very clean and everything you need for home away from home. Beds comfortable, as was settee and chairs downstairs. Lovely quiet location yet really close to beaches and to getting out and about to visit. Druridge Bay , Bamburgh and Alnmouth beaches we loved and the farm shop at Blagdon was fabulous. Terry and Lesley have done a great job and nothing was too much trouble for them. Will eb back again.

Luxuriously appointed dog friendly cottage offering fabulous comfort and facilities. The open plan kitchendiner is appointed with every appliance or piece of tableware you could wish for, the lounge is extremely comfortable and there's a separate snug to boot. The gardens are neatly laid out with lawn and architectural plants and the back garden is secure against would be four legged escapologists! Great communication from the owners and lovely welcome 'hamper'. Situation is brilliant for the Northumberland coast and for venturing further afield into the Scottish borders or inland towards Hadrian's wall. The station at Alnmouth is also very accessible. The best cottage we've ever stayed in!

Perfect location for exploring the many historical sites, enjoying the coastal walks and going to Kielder Forest for the day. Some holiday homes claim to be dog friendly, Cushat House truly is home to home for them with their own welcome pack and completely safe garden. The house was the best equipped we have stayed in, with even a dog towel, treats and throws. It was beautifully decorated and had real welcoming feel! It was more spacious than i thought it would be, which was useful with two couples. The garden was lovely and had patio furniture which we enjoyed on the sunny days. The house is located in a quiet hamlet but only a 10 minute drive away from a retail park, with everything you could need. Many lovely places to visit close by Craster, Bamburgh, Alnwick, Seahouses and Embleton and Alnmouth. We have to visit during school holidays and would recommend getting to popular destinations before 11, to get in car parks.

Cushat House was exactly as described and more, the owners Lesley & Terry had gone way above what I expected with all the extras they had provided. They messaged me to say the property was ready to move into and wished us safe journey home, our little yorkie Coco loved the garden which was very safe for her. Cushat house is amazing the best holiday let we have stayed in . The house is very well maintained and has everything you need , the welcome hampers went down a treat and was a lovely surprise. The dog loved the garden and is well kept and very secure so no escaping ! . The area is very peaceful, so if you want to relax you can but ten minutes in either direction you will be at the beach or in one of the lovely villages. This is a lovely house in a quiet rural location only 10 minutes drive from the fantastic Embleton Bay. 10 minutes in the other direction is Alnwick. It is an excellent base for exploring the Northumberland coast. The house is extremely well equipped, everything you could possibly think of is provided and is in excellent condition and everywhere is spotlessly clean. Large comfy sofas for lounging about, a big kitchen and dining area and a seperate snug all make for a very comfortable break. Our dog enjoyed the fully enclosed rear garden. Our hosts were very accommodating and helpful and left us a tasty welcome pack. We will definitely go back to Cushat House next time we visit Northumberland.

This is a beautiful cottage, which is exceptionally well maintained. We felt at home immediately and were extremely comfortable throughout our stay. There were numerous personal touches, including in the furnishings, garden, artwork, rainyday activities, and the selection of welcome treats which were a lovely surprise.
