Coach House (Alnmouth) Reviews

Our favourite place to stay. Been coming back here for a number of years.Perfect location and the parkings a must in Alnmouth.Weve got to know the owner over the years and nothing is any trouble it's always fixed. The cottage is always exceptionally clean.Beautiful shared garden to.Also a great bath for a soak after those long walks.
A lovely property, extremely well situated in the centre of the village and with offstreet parking. Property was clean and tidy when we arrived and is obviously well cared for and maintained. Beds are comfortable. Kitchen well equipped. Highly recommended.
Brenda
Lovely cute and cosy property. Absolutely prime location within a stone's throw of the beach plus the pubs and eateries of lovely Alnmouth. The beds are really comfortable and the kitchen is really well kitted out to cook at 'home'. Very, very helpful having a parking space and the shared garden is a real treat, a little haven of greenery where we saw birds and butterflies and enjoyed the Autumn sunshine. Would definitely book again.
Andrew
Excellent cottage in a brilliant location
Pamela
The Coach House was ideal for us well maintained, good decor and well equipped, topped off with use of of a lovely garden, also a parking space essential in Alnmouth.
This is has been our third year in the coach house. We love its situation in the village and parking is a great bonus. The garden albeit you have to share is a delightful haven of tranquility with shelter from inclement weather. Owner Nikki is very helpful, living close by .
We had a great week, cottage was great, and in a perfect location with its own parking
Christopher
Lovely cottage, well presented and located. Nice folk all round. Was so impressed rebooked.
Excellent cottage. Everything needed plus great location and parking. Would fully recommend.
Joanna
A beautiful property which felt like home. Comfortable, tastefully furnished, well equipped in the kitchen. We will definitely be back.
Danyal
Great place to stay, cozy, well located. Host was great. Would strongly recommend!
Jennifer
I have already sent feedback. I complained about the cost of the booking fee and additional costs which adds at least another 100 to the cottage fee. I think Alnmouth is pricing itself out of the market. Over the last 20 years since I have been visiting cottsge rentals have risen considerably. Also why did you allow Skyes cottages take over rentals? Some answers would be appreciated. Its up to you whether you publish this.
We throughly enjoyed our stay in the comfortable and wellappointed Coach House in its lovely tranquil setting in lovely Alnmouth. The additional bonus of access to such a beautiful and wellprovided secluded garden was an unexpected delight.
Coach House is small, but had everything we needed. There is a parking space and a lovely private garden, both of which are difficult to get in Alnmouth and it was a two minute walk to the beautiful beach. The cottage was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The only issue, which we left feedback for, was that the downstairs bedroom was quite cold and the storage heater was not effective. If an additional plug in radiator was provided, it would solve the problem. Otherwise, it is a perfect little cottage in a great location.
Wonderful stay lovely place go back any time
Ingrid
This was such a wee hidden gem. Maybe more mats at entrance so shoes don't go on carpet, near washing machine? Otherwise all fab
We had a super stay in the Coach House. Very comfortable beds. Good seating. Being able to have a parking space was essential to us and it was just outside the cottage so it was ideal. We loved Alnmouth itself, and we would like to stay again in the future. We would definitely book the Coach House again as it was so pleasant to stay in for a week with the living space planned just right.
Great location just a short walk from shop, pubs and cafes, quiet and with the benefit of a parking space. Wonderful coastal walks right from the village with many fantastic places to visit close by. Beautiful shared garden for good weather days. Very comfortable bed and good quality linen. Spotlessly clean. However, we felt there was the feel of a place managed from a distance, the few leafletsguides were out of date, instructions very out of date and kitchen while generally well equipped needs new frying pans and prep knives are cheap and bendy. Bathroom door needs attention, a bit shaving off? It sticks.
Christine
Lovely cottage. Had everything needed. Great location. Very clean very quiet. Lovely much needed break Lots of great walks and lovely places to eat
A charming property, ideally situated just off the main street and very important in Alnmouth its own offstreet parking space. Well equipped, comfortable bed in main bedroom. It was pleasant to have a bottle of wine awaiting us on arrival and to have milk in the fridge. We loved it.
Beverley
Beautiful cottage in the centre of Alnmouth, easy walk to all amenities but in a quiet position. Car parking easy. Has everything you require for a lovely holiday.
Theresa
Coach House is a comfortable property, providing all the amenities needed for a week in Alnmouth. It's quirky style, with lounge and kitchen upstairs, and main bedroom downstairs, serves to add to it's appeal. All items needed for cooking are provided as are towels and tea towels. And what a welcome surprise in finding a bottle of wine and nibbles waiting for us! Thank you.
Pamela
The Coach House is a very nice, well maintained property. It is in a quiet location, just off the main road through Alnmouth, close to pubs, restaurants and a great beach. The village shop is very well stocked. I would definitely recommend this property.
This was a return visit to the Coach House as we loved the property last year. Although small, it had everything we needed including use of a beautiful private garden and a parking space rare in Alnmouth. Very comfortable cottage, fully equipped, lovely hot shower and comfy beds. Already booked to return next year.
Louise
Lovely property, great location in the centre of the village with parking. Alnmouth is a lovely village, ideal location for visiting Northumberland coast and country and to walk from the front door around the village or further on to Alnwick. We will definitely be back.
Lorraine
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the coach house. Thank you for the wine and Pringles! Fantastic location in the centre of the village. Very spacious for 2 people, maybe a bit tight for 4 adults. Good supply of crockery and cutlery in a well equipped kitchen. All perfect for the two of us really. Brilliant to have the parking space as it is a busy village and parking can be a challenge that we did not have to worry about. Also lovely to have access to the shared garden. Briefly met the owner who was lovely, thank you, we enjoyed our stay very much
Again another lovely stay . So well positioned off the Main Street with a lovely garden. Light and airy living space and comfortable sitting area. We will be back , many thanks M Pateman
Richard
Very comfortable property too much crockery and cutlery not enough room for our own packed food. Non stick frying pans in poor condition. Only one cleaning cloth in whole property. Lovely garden, but seats covered in bird droppings and no cushions. Were cushions available? Guidelines for the property were Covid based, out of date. Car parking adequate, but target of daily bird droppings!
Raymond
The bathroom handbasin was extremely small and the centrally placed taps made it ... The bathroom handbasin was extremely small and the centrally placed taps made it very difficult to use and the cabinet above the basin made it quite easy to hit your head
Andrew
No baking tray ? ? I'm nitpicking as the kitchen was superbly stocked fairy liquid too water tank doesn't hold enough to fill an entire bath but again. I'm nitpicking. overall superb.
Richard
An excellent well maintained property in the centre of the village.
Quiet comfortable and warm stay . We love this property as its so accessible for Main Street and beach . Already booked again
Andrew
The description of the property, although accurate, didn't fully disclose where the property was. We didn't expect to to be looked over from every window we thought it would be more isolated. At some point in the past this would have been a lovely holiday cottage, but it's in desperate need of a refurbishment and some TLC. Virtually all the heaters are faulty and need replacing, we were only kept warm with the temporary oil heaters that were provided. The bathroom was freezing cold the radiator only heated a third of the way up and the fan heater didn't work at all. Although it looks like a new shower has been fitted, with decent pressure, you can never get it very hot, to much pressure and no easy to turn it down so that it warms up properly a plumber should be able to get that sorted very quickly. Need some extension leads so that you can plug in your phones, etc in the bedroom only single power points and all in use with lamps. We rented another cottage from you last year for roughly the same price night for night and was absolutely thrilled with that cottage. However, The Coach House was an utter disappointment, for the reasons above and we feel that we were significantly overcharged for this unloved cottage. Small things make you feel that it's a great property we were there only 3 days, but we had to go out and buy bin bags, silver foil, toilet rolls, extension leads and even salt. It feels the owners are simply keeping their costs to the minimum and not making our expensive break something to remember for the right reasons. We really wished we'd booked the same cottage as last time we will never come back to the coach house or recommend it! What should have been a lovely break to Alnmouth was soured by the poor accommodation.
In an increasingly busy and popular Alnmouth The Coach House has secluded privacy at the same time as being close to beach, shops and amenities. The garden is beautiful and a quiet and spectacular sitting out area. The dedicated parking space is a valued essential in a busy village where other options are very limited. The accommodation provides all comforts for a peaceful and restful holiday.
Cosy well equipped and well positioned cottage. Alnmouth is a great place to stay. The cottage is in the middle but well tucked away.
Very comfortable cottage and ideal for getting to the many attractions on and away from the magnificent coast
Lovely welcoming touches on arrival. Accurate description on website. Great location. Very comfortable inside with everything we needed to hand.
Excellent location and lovely property. All fittings, towels and linen of a very high quality. Shared garden and parking a real bonus. In the heart of the village next to an excellent pub. Owner very helpful and friendly.
Lovely clean and comfortable cottage perfect for our first family holiday. In a brilliant location close to all amenities.
Excellent location in the middle of Alnmouth. Appreciated the wine and biscuits on arrival. Cottage was very cosy and well equipped, with good quality linen and towels. We enjoyed sitting in the pretty garden, with a chilled glass of wine in the evenings.
