Baytree Reviews

Wonderful cottage! Plenty of room for our family of young children. Very clean and updated decor. Loved the log burner. Perfect location just outside Alnwick to explore all the sights too many for just one trip so we hope to stay again. Many thanks to Andrew the friendly and helpful owner for providing the perfect base for a memorable family holiday.

Great cottage, with all the facilities to keep you going on any active holiday. Clean, tidy and well equipped. Great on sunny days to come back and relax or on the return from a wet day to dry off. Lovely sunny front garden in the morning for a breakfast in the warmth or that satisfying cuppa. Local for all the shops, pub, and takeaways and the attractions in the area, which are many
Well maintained property in a good location. A few minor niggles. The dining table was unnecessarily large making the kitchendiner a little cramped. Normally wed expect a few extras such as kitchen foil. These are very minor issues and certainly didnt spoil the enjoyment of the holiday
Baytree Cottage was a lovely place to stay for me, my husband, my daughter and our two grandchildren, plus Lex , our Labrador. The kitchen was very well equipped, the lounge was cosy and the bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. The owner left a bottle of wine , some eggs and some biscuits which was lovely. The front garden was perfect for our dog . There was ample parking to the rear of the property. A great benefit was the location. We could walk into Alnwick town centre. And all the amazing beaches and castles were not too far away by car. The one small criticism was that only one bin bag was provided for the kitchen bin.
Excellent cottage, everything we required and more. Very good location for getting to other places of interest.
Cleveland
A lovely , clean, cosy cottage. The owner was very welcoming and there was everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Plenty of parking available and lots of information on places to visit, things to do and places to eat . We were lucky with the weather and took time to sit in the garden in the late afternoon sun . Beautiful countryside all around.
Absolutely lovely accommodation owners were so kind and pleasant would definitely stay there again
Jeanette
A lovely cottage in a convenient position to explore Northumberland. Very comfortable bedrooms and a well stocked kitchen . Easy parking .
Lovely little cottage, perfect for 3 of us. Would have liked a few more cleaning products to have been left, like cloths, dettol for surfaces etc, but aldi & lidl down the round so wasn't a problem. Outdoor alarm clock was handy, though if they could get the cockeral to delay another hour or so would have been even better.
Joanne
The cottage was furnished nicely, the living room in particular. The kitchen would benefit from better chopping knives and would feel a bit tight if 6 people were staying and sitting round the large table. We were staying during a cold, windy week and the cottage felt cold. The location was handy, close enough to walk into Alnwick and a short drive to the coast. The views from the window were a little disappointing the road and the farm machinery and buildings were the main things we saw but looking past them we could see the fields. Some other places we've stayed had small amounts of tea, coffee, sugar and saltpepper to get visitors going before they visit the shops. Now that COVID restrictions have been dropped, this might be a nice touch. We did appreciate the bottle of wine, thank you.
Michael
Beautiful cottage, very clean and tidy, well presented and had everything we needed for our stay. Warm, comfortable layout with great comfortable beds. Excellent location for the area, beautiful scenery. Excellent hosts, very helpful.
Andrew
Lovely comfortable cottage, ideally located for exploring the Northumberland coast and National Park Andrew, the owner was a very friendly and welcoming person. Thankyou Andrew for the wine on arrival and eggs on departure. Very much appreciated.
Lovely cottage we enjoyed a really great holiday here. Hosts were great
Claire
A typical Northumbrian house set in the outskirts of Alnwick. Beautiful views and in the grounds of Alndyke farm which added to the experience. Andrew was incredibly helpful , knowledgeable and always up for a chat despite being very busy running his farm. A great place as a starting point to explore all the beautiful beaches, towns and countryside. Cant wait to go back.
Daniel
A great place to stay. Six of us stayed there comfortably. The host checked in on us to make sure everything was ok. Location was just a few minutes from Alnwick castletown. It had everything we needed. We were very happy with our vacation.
Christopher
We had a lovely stay at Baytree. The property was very comfortable and clean. The owner was very helpful and gave us recommendations of places to visit etc. Only thing was we couldnt work the washing machine.
A lovely comfortable cottage in a central location to all we wanted to do and see. It was wonderful coming back most evenings especially after a drenching to open a bottle of wine and sit beside the logburner with a book relaxing. Utter bliss. The only item missing was a cafetiere and a check on up to date contact numbers is needed. I did text to ask a question and had no response. I certainly recommend this cottage.
Andrew
We had a lovely stay at Baytree Cottage, which was very comfortable. The owners were most helpful with advice finding the footpaths and cycle paths from the cottage as well as what else to see locally. We were undoubtedly helped by the warmest weather in Northumberland in 25 years, but will definitely return. It would be great to visit in colder months and sit by the woodburning stove.
Equipment quite good, but would benefit from a new frying pan and a new cheese grater. Otherwise all fine
The cottage was lovely and very well equipped. Thank you so much for the Prosecco and wine on arrival. The cottage was decorated lovely for Christmas New Year. We would definitely look to come again.
Shirley
We had a lovely time here there was everything you needed. Cosy comfortable and warm . The log burner was excellent. The cottage was handy for all our favourite places. Would come back with no worries. Excellent
We had a really enjoyable stay at Baytree. The host Andrew spoke to us a few times during our stay and was very friendly and happy to talk to us about the area. We had a bottle of wine left for us when we arrived and were given some fresh eggs as well which were really nice! The location was perfect for exploring the coast and nearby areas. We thought the cottage was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. We loved the inglenook log burner and there was plenty of logs supply available from the wood shed at the rear of the cottage. Overall we had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend staying here.
Timothy
Homily, warm, comfortable and walking distance from Barter Books.
Beautiful place, in gorgeous location. Had a brilliant week and wanted for nothing. Would recommend
Nicola
The location of the cottage was great for Alnwick, Alnmouth and beyond. There was actually a footpath all the way into Alnwick which we would have used if we didn't have little ones with us and that would have saved us 3 on parking at the castlegardens. The cottage was clean and very well equipped, despite having some things removed due to Covid. The host was very friendly and came to make sure everything was okay when we arrived and departed. We also enjoyed watching the cows in the field across the road, especially at feeding time. We had a small issue with the Wifi, which was remedied quickly, and I would not hesitate to recommend this cottage for someone wanting to stay in the area. It was a real home from home.
Victoria
Good location for getting around area. Lovely views. Good to have garden and no problem that it was in front of house. No noise from farmyard. Was woken up by bird dawn chorus! A great place to stay.
Lovely cottage in a great location. 5 minute drive to the beach and only 5 minutes from the big supermarkets and shops. Some things had to be removed from the property due to government guidelines such as cushions from the sofa but to be expected. Lovely and clean, beds very comfy, wood burner lovely all in all a fab stay
Had a lovely time at Baytree cottage. It was very clean and tidy asnd comfortable. A nice bottle of wine was a nice welcoming touch on arrival The cottage is situated perfectly to visit all that Northumberland has to offer Would certainly recommend.
We had a lovely stay at Baytree cottage. The cottage was very comfortable and well equipped, located a few minutes from the market town of Alnwick and the coastal town of Alnmouth. There was so much to see and do in Northumberland that we will likely be back for another visit.
Esther
Lovely holiday cottage on a working farm. Extremely clean on arrival. Surprise bottle of wine waiting for us too! Good amount of kitchen utensils available, plenty of glasses, cups, plates, pots and pans. Lovely warm and welcoming farmhousetype living room with real fire, which was very welcome on a typically colder English summers day! Comfy warm beds. The only thing to make it better would be a stronger shower, but water pressure cant always be helped! Very friendly greeting from the owners and helpful in their advice of walks to enjoy. We love Northumberland generally but would definitely use this cottage again.
Catherine
Very comfortable, well equipped, nicely decorated, good location. All excellent and very well managed. Description and pictures are very accurate.
