The Mistal is set in beautiful surroundings with places of interest easily accessible by car. The cottage has been beautifully converted, is very comfortable and spotlessly clean. We would recommend staying here and would happily do so again.
Excellent property well maintained, spotlessly clean and everything you could possibly need is provided.
Excellent cottage well maintained clean, everything you need easy to use. We had a great week. People friendly, lots of nice walks nearby. Easy access to many places like Alnwick castle and gardens, National Trust places many. We went to Wallington very nice easy access lovely walks ,lots for everyone to do. Would well recommend .
Katerina
Perfect cottage in a perfect location. Every single thing you needed was provided by the hosts.
Angelique
We loved Mistal. It was well equipped with everything you might need. I felt very comfortable that everything had been cleaned properly. I am a Celiac, often need to clean work surfaces etc before I can use them because of cross contamination. No such worries at Mistal. A great central location with the Beamish Valley Park, historical towns, Cragside National Trust and the coast within easy reach. We will definitely be back, there is still lots to do and see we didnt have time for.
Christian
Im actually feel this was one of the best equips holiday home Ive stayed at. Lovely place lovely location. Only minor drawback is the lack of secure outside space for dogs and kids tho this is made clear on the listing. Would certainly recommend and would happily be back. If only all holiday lets were done to such a high standard.
Elizabeth
We had a fabulous time staying at The Mistal. A lovely property in a brilliant location. The house was well equipped with everything that we needed and it was so clean and comfortable. All the information that was in the property was easy to follow and really helpful, and the pint of milk and dog treats which were left for us were a lovely touch. Well definitely return again!
Claudia
Brilliant cottage everything you needed central to everything in Northumberland
Stephen
A lovely cottage my 2nd stay here and wouldn't hesitate in booking again well equipt, clean and homely cottage
Lovely very well equipped place to stay in a great area with so much to do. Would love to stay again next year. Very helpful nice owners.
Andrew
Great property, and good location for getting out and about. Contact prior key information, during we randomly met on first evening at nearby pub and got chatting , and afterwards I left an item was a breeze.
One of the best cottages that we have stayed in. It was spotless, well equipped and in a perfect location for visiting this beautiful area. Definitely deserves 5 stars.
Catherine
The cottage was lovely really comfy beds, nice powerful shower, very wellequipped kitchen and dog friendly! The pint of milk, biscuits and some dog treats on arrival was a lovely touch, and much needed after a long drive! Thank you very much.
A very well finished, furnished & presented property in a location ideally placed to provide a base for visiting a very large part of the far north. We may well be returning to Northumberland in a couple of years or so & will certainly look to use The Mistal again
A great short stay. Lovely accommodation and a great base to explore the many attractions of Northumbria.
Another wonderful week at this cottage. It is a real home from home and a lovely peaceful retreat. So comfortable and the owners have thought of your every need there after a day out exploring the countryside as we love to do. My only slight criticism is that you have to strip the beds and empty all the bins before leaving. I could appreciate it during the covid period but that is behind us now. There are only 2 of us so it didn't take long but if you have a couple children and dogs it's alot to do before you get going I'm sure. You don't have to do these chores in alot of places and shouldn't it be for the cleaners to do?
Christopher
We had a lovely state in this great cottage. It is well maintained, so well furnished with all the essentials that you need, which you don't always get with other holiday lets. The owners were also extremely prompt and attentive when we had a query on the cottage. The cottage has offroad parking, and is in a great location for so many of the local towns and attractions. We would definitely return to this cottage.
Melanie
Really enjoyed the warmth and comfort of the Mistall. Well situated for the coast, Alnwick & Bamburgh castles, Lindisfarne Holy Island. Dog friendly places to walk within the village of Glanton.
Victoria
We stayed at the Mistal with our three sons and three dogs and we absolutely loved it. The house was lovely and comfortable, it was really well presented and spotless and immediately felt like home. The owners have really given thought to every detail and there wasn't a thing that we could have needed or wished for in addition to what had been provided. They even left some milk and three packets of dog biscuits for us upon arrival. We have stayed in a lot of cottages in the NE as we are often up visiting family, this is the only one we would return to. In fact, we considered not leaving
Lindsay
Thought the Mistal was excellent. Well equipped, clean, comfortable and well located. We hope to return as soon as we can!
Nicolas
Modern and comfortable cottage, with plenty of room we had 5 in our party and 3 dogs. Plenty to see and do in local area. Cant recommend enough. Great place to stay!
We had a great week at The Mistal. For us and our wellbehaved elderly Springer Spaniel the accommodation was perfect and in a great location between 15 and 30 mins from 'everywhere we'd planned to visit'. We'll certainly be recommending this as a very comfortable and wellappointed base from which to explore the area.
We hade a wonderful stay at Mistal Cottage. It is thoughtfully kitted out with everything you might possibly need, spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable. It's a real home from home. Well situated to explore the Northumberland countryside and coast. We highly recommend this place, don't hesitate, make a booking!
The cottage had everything we could have hope for and more. It was clean and tidy, spacious and in a good area for accessing the coast but away from the madding crowd. We took 3 well behaved dogs and although a garden for them would have been ideal, there was a lane nearby to take them out. We certainly wont hesitate in going back to this lovely cottage when we are next in the area. Many many thanks for a wonderful week and even the weather was fantastic.
Richard
We were really impressed with the house. It was really well set up as a let with quality furniture, kitchen ware etc which was great to see as it makes the experience so much nicer. Also all the thoughtful touches like cleaning equipment in cupboard up high shows again how well youve thought through the let. Thank you for an enjoyable stay.
Christine
Impeccably clean rental with everything you need for your holiday. We appreciated the local information, a really clever thought.
The property was spotlessly clean, and really well equipped. We were really happy with the cottage. The location was excellent, with lots of places to visit, beautiful walks and of course the coast. As a family we had a fantastic holiday, and we would live to cone back.
We were fortunate to find this available for 2nights after a change in our plans. Very well equipped and spacious kitchen and dining area with the adjacent lounge. Very clean and comfortable accommodation. Being a stablesbarn conversion do need to watch head where beams slope in bedrooms but bedrooms also comfortable.. Good parking in front of property. Ideal for our visit to Alnwick castle.
Stephen
A lovely cottage very clean, well equipt kitchen, very comfy beds overall a lovely place to stay in
We had a very enjoyable stay at Mistal it was a very clean, well presented and superbly equipped property. An excellent base to explore Northumberland. We would most definitely recommend.
Our second time of staying at the Mistal and we love it. Every thing you could possibly need is in the cottage. They have thought of everything and more. It is super clean and roomy too. The lack of a garden doesn't bother us as it is handy to park your car right outside the door so not far to deal with luggage in and out. The courtyard is off road too. It is an ideal base for exploring all around which we love to do and visiting the countryside nearby especially the Breamish valley. We hope to return there.
This is a beautiful cottage very well equipped with everything required for perfect holiday. Perfect for the beautiful beaches and castles in the area. Would definitely go back
Wonderful place to explore Northumberland. We had a great time.
Overall excellent.
Denise
The cottage was everything we hoped it would be and within easy travelling distance for all places we wished to visit
Lovely property. Very well looked after and relaxing, with a really well equipped kitchen and plenty of space downstairs. We loved the views as soon as you left the property and enjoyed all the traditional features in the house.
We had a great time staying in the Mistal for our holiday and hope to be booking it again for next year. The cottage is exceptionally clean and comfortable and has everything you could possibly need even poobags for our dog if needed. The owner kindly left biscuits and milk as well as a vase of flowers for our arrival which was nice. The property is central for coast and country and you can get to the border of Scotland too within a short drive. We were lucky with the weather too but the cottage is a real home from home should you require it in a village which is so quiet the children can play in the street. If you wish to get away from it all and live life in the countryside this is perfect but Alnwick is only a few miles away for all you might need. There is no garden at all here though so take note should you require dog space but plenty walks from the door.
