Grange Cottage Reviews

Lovely cottage well appointed & equipped. Very quiet given it is in the centre of the village. We enjoyed a very comfortable week there. One request please leave instructions on where the extractor light & fan switches are over the oven the light was on when we arrived & it took us several days to find the switch & only then by standing in a chair !!

This was our second stay in this lovely cottage. It is so comfortable, cosy and warm. Everything you could possibly need in a home from home is here. The location in the centre of Alnmouth is terrific and having 2 parking spaces it is a gem. The only slight niggle was the shower in the downstairs ensuite was constantly dripping. However this would not put us off staying here again, we love it and have recommended it to several friends.
Lovely cottage, right in the centre of the village.
What a wonderful stay we had at Grange Cottage . The Cottage was perfect and exactly what we required. It was extremely clean, beds were so comfortable and we got a lovely welcome of delicious treats and milk for our arrival. We stayed as a mixed group of family. One of our group has mobility issues and having a bedroom and ensuite downstairs really made things easy. I cant rate the Cottage highly enough, it was perfect for us. It is in the beautiful village of Alnmouth, with the beach only 5 mins away. There is an excellent post office village store. Many pubs offering delicious food and a very friendly welcome. The Cottage is in the perfect position to get around Northumberland, we had great visits to Bamburgh, Cragside, Seahouses, Craster, Beadnell. We were also lucky enough to get a week of perfect weather, blue skies and beautiful beaches made our holiday. Infact it was so good we have booked to go again next year.
Well appointed cottage situated conveniently in the centre of Alnmouth. Restaurants, eateries, shops and the beautiful beach close at hand. Both my wife and I really enjoyed the venue and the accommodation.
This cottage is a lovely cottage. We spent a fabulous week there. A cosy place to stay.
This was our nth stay at Grange. It still has that wow factor for us as does Alnmouth. The cottage provides a very comfortable base, there is a gorgeous communal garden to sit in, a pub next door, and glorious beaches down the street. All this and plenty of Northumberland to explore in day trips. We look forward to our next visit.
Will be back if we book early enough
Tracey
A lovely cottage, ideally situated. We only used the ground floor as there were only two of us. One small negative is that wardrobe space is limited. The washing machine developed a fault during our stay, this was fixed the same day.
We have , as a family , been coming to Grange Cottage for ten years . The proximity and parking are great plus points . The wood burner is easy to light , gives out excellent heat and provides a comforting focal point in the lounge . However , we feel that , Grange Cottage could do with an injection of TLC . An update in furniture and soft furnishings would benefit this lovely cottage . As regards the downstairs bathroom , there was a terrible smell of drains all weekend . We have noticed this during other stays . Sadly it doesnt seem to be getting any better . We love to cook and have enjoyed many an evening doing so in the well equipped kitchen . Unfortunately the Aga does have its issues . The hot plates do not maintain the heat . Surely it cannot be just us that experience problems with it ? The outside light by the back door was very temperamental . It is important to have lighting there , especially in the winter months , to prevent accidents . We hope that you find these comments constructive and helpful .
A great place to stay, very comfortable and well look after. Thank you.

What a super holiday cottage, we loved our stay here. Superb location and very cosy. The Aga took a while to work out but the plus side was the warmth in the cottage. Everything we needed was included. The fire in the sitting room was too much faff for us, so I would prefer a gas or electric fire for ease just a bit of lightfake fire wouldve been nice. I would recommend this cottage and will definitely be back.
The AGA cooker is a problem ! !!!
The location was superb and the facilities were appropriate to our needs. Level of equipment was very good. Decor was to a high standard. As the only cooker available was the Aga we should have appreciated more easy to find accurate information on its use. Fortunately I have used an Aga before albeit many years ago. Because the Aga is on all of the time and could not be turned off it made the kitchen uncomfortably hot in the fine weather we were lucky enough to experience.

Beautiful, comfortable property in an excellent location. This was the second stay for our family.
Tracey
Really comfortable cottage,a lot of thought and care taken with equipping and furnishing it as holiday home. We had a wonderful stay
Lovely cottage in a great position in the village. Private parking a real bonus. Hope to return.
The cottage was beautifully presented, centrally located in Alnmouth and ideally located for exploring the area. It lacked nothing you would want for a short or long stay and the garden was a delight.
Great property and a fantastic location.
Sharon
Beautiful property in excellent location. Friendly owner. Great to have off road parking. Kitchen very well stocked. Bed comfy, sofas less so but not worth knocking a star off. Great shower pressure. Lovely garden, sadly too cold to make much use of. Many thanks for the welcome gift.
We have stayed in Grange Cottage in Alnmouth several times now, we love it there, the cottage is lovely and its in a great location. Its such a beautiful part of the country to visit The beach is fantastic and its always nice to come back to the cottage to relax.

A lovely, comfortable cottage, very friendly and helpful staff and owner who quickly sorted out a minor problem outside their control that occurred during our stay. This is a beautifully located cottage, extremely well equipped and very well maintained.
Lynsey
The cottage was beautifully presented and in a lovely location. Everything was very clean and the facilities were excellent. We would happily stay again or better still move in permanently! Our only suggestion is that little signs were perhaps needed on the gates of the lovely shared garden, reminding other families that this is a shared facility.
Catherine
Second visit to this beautiful dog friendly property. Blessed with lovely weather and consequently spent a lot of time out and about but enjoyed returning to our temporary home and the welcome of an AGA. Lovely to have parking and a very pretty secure garden to enjoy. The welcome gift of wine and snacks were very much appreciated. Hope to return again soon.
Judith

Lovely cottage in a perfect location.
Excellent property renovated and maintained to a high standard. Provision of bathrooms very generous! Fab garden.
An excellent and well located property, we loved it
Totally recommend this well equipped and comfortable cottage. Great for walking to beach and pub!
It&39s a beautiful cottage with a super walled garden and private parking which was a bonus. The rooms were furnished to a high standard. The kitchen was very well equipped. The cottage worked well for us because our daughters are older and we had a bathroom each.
Excellent property in great location
Very good quality especially the kitchen. Cottage was in an excellent location for beach and eating out.
Visited many many times. Cosy and idyllic cottage.
Grange Cottage was warm, very clean and well equipped. It was surprisingly quiet considering how close to the road and pub it is. Beds were very comfortable and everything was in good order. A lovely cottage for a few days in Alnmouth. Would recommend.
An excellent, comfortable property, which our group of five adults found perfect for our holiday. Grange Cottage was close to the beach, the golf course, pubs and a variety of places to eat to suit all tastes.
