Blacksmiths Cottage Reviews

Great stay clean tidy modern well equipped
Very spacious and really clean cottage. The garden was bigger than expected too. The beds and sofas were very comfortable. Our fur buddy settled the moment we got there which is a bonus. The animals therehorses, billy the goat and owners pug very entertaining. We enjoyed our stay so much already booked for next year
The house, the location, was excellent. Nicely tucked away but close enough to access the lovely town of alnwick. Only a small gripe, the master bedroom could do with a new mattress, shower room floor needed regrouting and the towel rail needed replacing. Minor things to sort out but not at great expense.
Harriet
Fab cottage with everything you need, in a great location to enjoy many places in Northumberland.
Barbara
We enjoyed staying in Blacksmiths cottage. It was a good sized bungalow and very spacious. The kitchen was well equipped. It was peaceful situated outside the village and with a quiet road running along side. We had 1 very small problem and the owner was soon round to sort it out. I would suggest putting up a blind in the bathroom and the shower room. A blind or black out linings would be good in the main bedroom to keep out the light too. Would stay again.

We had a very enjoyable stay, thank you, and thought the cottage was fabulous, is in a quiet location and is convenient for exploring. We did notice that the toilet in the main bathroom was very slow at refilling and when we ran water for a bath the water wasn't very hot. We would recommend the cottage and we would stay there again if visiting the area.
This is our third stay. Always feel at home. Beautiful comfortable cottage. Welcome package appreciated.
Great cottage, a dishwasher would be a bonus. Couple of cupboard doors in kitchen need attention. But had a great stay, would highly recommend
Would have liked some contact with the owner or representative.
Lovely place and would definitely stay here again. Clean, comfortable and well cared for. Well positioned for many different touristy trips.

A lovely spacious property, very well equipped. A bugbear was the tiny sink in the ensuite bathroom, which is an issue when 2 or more families are sharing the property. A shower hose would be a useful addition to the bath in the main bathroom. The property has very pleasant decor throughout. It is well situated for reaching all the attractions in the area. The wifi signal is very intermittent inconvenient when trying to book tickets in advance. We very much enjoyed our stay in this property and area.
The bungalow was clean and spacious. Even though you have 2 other bungalows in close proximity was still very quiet and peaceful. Our daughter especially enjoyed seeing the ponies. Thank you for the welcome pack it was appreciated after a long journey. We loved the location, didn't take us long to get to all the beaches and Alnwick.
Excellent cottage, good location for getting around the different areas like Alnwick,Seahouses,Alnmouth Warkworth,Bamburgh etc. The cottage is very spacious and excellently furnished. P.S. owners please see comments book.

Accommodation was exactly as described. It's in a quiet location with ready access to the A1, Alnwick and the Northumbrian coast. Most tourist locations are within a 30 minute drive. Alnwick has all the major supermarkets and is a bustling market town with attractive gardens and of course the castle which are both well worth visiting.
Deceptively spacious bungalow in a quiet location , but handy for all that the area has to offer. this our 3rd stay here and always find it really clean and comfortable . Always a nice welcome pack supplied on arrival . Would recommend this property no problem
A few things that could do with reviewing A Dishwasher is a must in a holiday cottage of this price. There is a cupboard next to the washing machine that was empty. A few items that require updating in the kitchen, a 4 slice toaster, the cutlery is of a very poor quality, mugs are again a poor quality, a coffee machine of some sort. Lack of bags for bins, we had to buy some.No laundry bag. Also the recycling isn't very clear, for general waste. A better explanation
Blacksmith's cottage is a really comfortable, well equipped holiday cottage with high spec decor and furnishings . It is excellently situated and we visited Bamburgh, Seahouses ,Amble, Alnwick and Alnmouth. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and really appreciated the welcome pack . We would highly recommend this property.
Fantastic holiday cottage, immaculate, everything thing you need and more, would recommend this to anyone
Very clean and comfortable. Well appointed. Like the idea of everything being on one level and it was very nice to see the interior furnishings matched unlike some places that we have stayed that got the furniture from a sale room. Would definitely book here again if we come back to Northumberland.
We had the most wonderful week at the cottage with my mum and dad. It was clean, spacious and we found everything we needed there for a comfortable stay. The Masons arms in Warkworth was a favourite for dining with enormous plates of fish and chips. Delicious
This is a beautiful cottage which gave us everything we required from our holiday. The location gave us easy access to many local towns and attractions including the lovely beach at Alnmouth.

We loved the cottage. It was the perfect base for us to explore the area, plenty to see and do and plenty still to do next year so we hope to go back there next year.

This bungalow is very well appointed & clean, it lived up to all our expectations.
This bungalow is very well appointed & clean, it lived up to all our expectations.
We had an amazing stay at Blacksmiths, It was our second time there. We felt there is a slight privacy issue between the cottage next door, The kitchen window looks onto Blacksmiths, feel the need for the fence to be extended to the end of Old Colliery cottage. I would recommend this to family & friends.
Christine
This was a really lovely property with very comfortable beds. The owners had also left us a generous food gift package in addition to milk, which after a long drive from Plymouth was very much appreciated. We had lots of enjoyment watching the resident goat and ponies and the Running Fox cafepub in the village served sumptuous food including breakfast, which we had on our leaving day as we had to be out of the property by 9am. I would heartily recommend this rental.
Treena
Quiet and spacious bungalow. Warm and cosy. Large rooms. Well equipped. The only thing I would suggest is some coat hooks. There is nowhere to hang coats unless you put them in the wardrobes. Visited a few places nearby. Cragside, Bamburgh Castle and Holy Island. Owners live opposite so on hand if you need anything. Would definitely return and recommend to friends and family.

Clean warm and comfortable. Very nice welcome pack however no hand soap and just a spot of washing up liquid? We were two couples sharing not really suitable for 6 as only one ensuit shower and a bathroom with a small very old bath, it would be greatly improved if a shower were to be fitted in place of the bath. Great location for visiting a very beautiful area.

This is the second visit to this charming well equipped cottage. On our first visit we never thought things could get better but the cottage has been updated with new decorating and furnishings. We were left an excellent welcome pack. The owner is very charming and friendly. It is central for visits to various places. There is a fantastic Sunday market at Amble and the Amble inn serves an excellent Sunday carvery. We will definitely be back to this cottage. In our opinion it warrants 5s. Lynne and Alan Rhodes

Second time that I have stayed at this property and it is lovely. Perfect spot and close to lots of good places like Warkworth, Alnwick, Seahouses etc. Comfortable, clean with brilliant facilities
Victoria
We were a family of 5 2 adults, 3 children staying at Blacksmith cottage whilst visiting family. It was a fabulous location, quiet spot and close to all the key spots of Alnwick, Alnmouth, Warkworth etc. The house is very spacious and the garden was well secured for children and dogs. There was some confusion about us bringing 2 pets rather than 1 I filtered for pet friendly and 2 dogs when booking and we did get an email during our break saying we should have paid extra which we were not prompted for at time of booking which was a bit upsetting. I would suggest just double checking when you book to avoid this. But, we had a lovely stay and a great welcome pack from the owner which was very kind. Overall a well equipped home to stay in a great spot.
Very nice cottage spacious & well presented in a handy location for beaches & local attractions
Spacious bungalow in a peaceful location. Nice and warm and extremely well equipped. Some attention required to finer details and cleanliness but overall we had a comfortable break.
Property was spotlessly clean , owner had put heating on, when we arrived , much appreciated. Lovely welcome pack of wine , snacks ,chocolate as well as the usual tea and coffee and milk . Beds are really comfortable with decent bedding , the bungalow is well located for all that is in the area within a short drive of about 20 miles . This is our 2nd stay here and would definitely return again .
Spent a wonderful week at Blacksmiths Cottage. It is the perfect location to explore the stunning Northumberland coast. The cottage has three great bedrooms , the master with ensuite wet room and a second bathroom. A great well equipped kitchen diner and a superb lounge , both with patio doors leading to the outdoor seating. I would highly recommend Blacksmiths Cottage for a family getaway. A must visit is the Running Fox artisan bakerycafe the pub next door and the Indian restaurant Lal Khazana. We will definitely be back.
The cottage was really well equipped and furnished and is very easy access for anyone being a bungalow on level ground. Its very easy to get to the Northumberland coast with Amble and Warkworth only minutes away and Seahouses not too far. Also only takes about 5 minutes to get to Alnwick in the other direction. There was a great welcome pack left for us with wine, fresh eggs, and snacks which was a lovely touch.
Russell
Wonderful cottage, excellent location. We could not have been happier with it.
Lovely cottage in very quiet location. Home from home with everything we needed. Super location to access stunning beaches and villages. Very comfy beds
